This is just a little something I wrote at work tonight. I don't own NCIS...
She tried everything. First, she tried leaving hints. That didn't work though. When Ziva hinted to Tony about being soul mates, he had no idea what she was talking about. Ziva was just about to give up and move on. She had wasted too much time being in love with Tony. Ziva had to move on.
They always had movie nights. Ever since Ziva arrived at NCIS, they had movie nights. That was how they bonded. That's how Ziva fell in love with Tony DiNozzo.
But now, she was about to give up. She was still having the movie nights with Tony though. Ziva just wasn't going to try to make an effort with him.
One Friday after work, like usual, Tony followed Ziva back to her apartment. The Israeli had no clue what movie Tony was bringing with him. Ziva just knew that she couldn't fall in the same trap she did before. She had to resist the Tony DiNozzo charm.
"What movie did you bring this time, Tony?" Ziva asked, grabbing a few beers and walking into the living room.
She passed Tony, who was waiting for the popcorn and Ziva rubbed her arm against his. Ziva involuntarily got the goose bumps and she shivered.
"You cold, Zi?" Tony asked, ignoring her question and looking down at her as the microwave beeped.
Ziva looked up at him, her heart racing. He wasn't supposed to have this effect on her. She was supposed to be forgetting about him, not falling for him again. Ziva hated to admit it, but she did love him.
"No, I'm fine, Tony," she lied, avoiding his gaze. Ziva walked into the living room and sat down, DiNozzo following her.
Tony got the movie started and sat down on the couch. He sat close to Ziva, the bowl of popcorn sitting on his lap. DiNozzo's arm brushed against hers while they sat.
Ziva stayed close to Tony during the movie, only moving away to grab the bottle of beer that was sitting on the coffee table in front of them. After grabbing the beer she was always settle herself right by Tony, curled up into his side.
She didn't know why she was doing it. She was falling for him all over again. She knew nothing would ever happen. He wouldn't let it happen. Tony loved his job too much to risk losing it. So then why was Ziva curled up against his side, reaching over for popcorn every couple of minutes?
While the black and white film continued, Tony slowly wrapped his arm around Ziva's shoulders and he pulled her even closer to him. Ziva yawned and then rested her head on his shoulder, closing her eyes for a second.
While her eyes were closed, Ziva felt something touch her lips. She opened one eye and saw Tony's lips against hers as he wrapped his other arm around her. The Israeli smiled to herself and closed her eyes before kissing him back.
Of course Tony would wait until Ziva actually gave up on them ever being together. He is that kind of person that does things his own way and always gets what he wants. Ziva smiled to herself even more as she kissed him back, wrapping her arms around his neck.
After they pulled away a moment later, Tony smirked. "You were giving up, weren't you?" he said with a laugh before kissing her again.
Ziva kissed him back a moment before pulling away. She rested her head on his shoulder again and replied, "You will never know, Tony."
Then, still smiling to herself, Ziva curled her body against Tony's again and entwined her fingers with his. Maybe all she had to do was give up so he could realize what he was missing. Maybe the movie nights were going to be more frequent now. Ziva didn't care. She had Tony now.
