A/N: And now for a change of pace from my usual Final Fantasy fics

A/N: And now for a change of pace from my usual Final Fantasy fics. My friend also suggested this one, but it was from a whole list of prompts and pairings. I don't think I did a very good job, but it was pretty late at night and that's not really when I do my best work. For the record, my prompts were: 66. Legend and 48. Two trainers/Turtwig/Sandshrew.

"It's them," Amy heard someone say as she walked through Lilycove town. She and her best friend, Sam, were on their way to the department store. They just wanted to buy a TM. But it seemed that they couldn't go anywhere without getting that reaction by at least one person.

Sam looked at her and smiled. Amy returned it. She was so happy that she and Sam were traveling together in their journey. Most Pokémon trainers only had themselves and their Pokémon. The only human contact was, really, with the trainers that challenged them. But not her and Sam. If one of them lost, the other could carry on. Not to mention, it was just nice to have someone to be with throughout the journey..

The pair went into the department store and over to the directory, passing by several other gawking trainers. Once they knew what floor to go to, they went into the elevator. The attendant asked them which floor, then pressed the proper button for them. "Thank you," Amy told her on her way out. But as the doors closed, she thought she heard the woman say, "Oh my gosh!"

Amy rolled her eyes. There was only so much celebrity she could take—and she was getting tired of it.

Sam had made his way to the clerk selling the TMs he wanted. But as soon as he had started talking to her, she had asked him, "Hey, aren't you—"

"Yes," he sighed, interrupting her. "I'd like to buy this one," he said, indication the TM in front of him.

"Oh, of course!" the woman said, suddenly flustered. "That'll be—you know what? For you, it's free."

"Look, I want to pay for it," he insisted firmly. "Just take the money," he said, handing her some coins. Before she had a change to protest, he walked back over to Amy and said, "Let's go."

Amy nodded and headed for the stairs.

The warm breeze brushed lazily past the pair as they made their way to the beach. They took out their Pokéballs when they got there. Amy's was a Sandshrew, which of course loved the beach. Sam's, a Turtwig, certainly didn't mind running around with the Sandshrew.

Mostly, Sam and Amy wanted to get away from the adoring crowds. They hadn't really done anything to fantastic. Sure, they had beaten the Elite Four in their first week of their journey. But there was so much more to do! Just now, they were trying to find one of the many Pokémon that had eluded them on their way through the first time.

"We don't really deserve to be called 'The New Legends'," Sam sighed.

"I know. So many other people have beaten them before—and by themselves!" Amy agreed.

The pair heard a pained cry from nearby. Their heads whipped around, their eyes meeting for a brief moment before they settled on their Pokémon. The Turtwig was holding its eyes the best it could, while the Sandshrew attempted to help.

Amy and Sam were on their feet in seconds, both trying to fix whatever the Turtwig's problem was. Sam took out an eyedropper and a bottle of water and carefully put several drops into its eyes.

At least, its whimpering stopped. "Twig," it whispered happily, and hopped out of Sam's arms, back into the sand.

"This will blow over eventually," Sam said when his Pokémon had wandered a good ways away. "We don't be The New Legends forever. Just wait it out."

Amy nodded. "You're right. But maybe, for now, we should appreciate out celebrity status. We might miss it when it's gone."
