Title: Is it Easy for You?

Author: Skye Aerrow

Genre: Angst/Tragedy

Characters: Erik- the Phantom of the Opera

Summary: A Phantom of the Opera one-shot poem. Is it easy for you/ To kiss me like that?/ To drive me to tears/ And then leave me to die alone?/ Is it easy for you/ To hear me declare my love?/ To swear endless devotion to you/ And then watch yourself ravage my heart?

Skye Says: This is only the fourth poem I've ever written and the first one I've put on here, so please let me know what you think.

Is it Easy for You?

Is it easy for you

To sing like an angel?

To lure and ensnare me

And then have nothing to do with me?

Is it easy for you

To say you don't care?

That my deepest feelings

Mean absolutely zero to you?

Is it easy for you

To deny that you do care?

To lie and tell me

You don't want to stay?

Is it easy for you

To kiss me like that?

To drive me to tears

And then leave me to die alone?

It is easy for you

To watch me suffer like this-

Hidden in the catacombs,

Wasting away in eternal night?

Is it easy for you

To see me hide behind my mask,

Ashamed of my deformity,

Ashamed to face the world?

Is it easy for you

To run off with a vicompte

Who may love you now,

But will leave you in a few short years?

Is it easy for you

To hear me declare my love?

To swear endless devotion to you

And then watch yourself ravage my heart?

It is easy for you

To see me like this-

A broken man,

A ruined soul?

Is it easy for you

To just up and leave me

When I need you the most,

Even though you know I will die?

Is it easy for you

To drop the ring back into my hand

And run off with his arm 'round your shoulders?

Is it easy for you

To laugh carelessly and gaily

As a violent agony

Pierces my fragile heart?

Is it easy for you,

My angel of destruction,

To watch me fall apart like this?

Because let me tell you something:

It isn't easy at all for me.

Skye Also Says: I wrote this after watching The Phantom of the Opera again. Can you guess whose side I'm on? Hint: It isn't Raoul's.
