"This is all your fault!" Hoji snarled in a heap on the floor, nursing his injured ankle.
"Sorry sorry sorry!" Ban knelt down and rolled up the pants leg enough to see how bad it was. "It's already swollen up."
Hoji took a deep breath. "Yes, that tends to happen to an ankle when it's twisted." As angry as he was at Ban, he knew it was his fault too. The training room may have been dark and empty, but there was always the chance someone might drop in unannounced, therefore making it a poor choice for them... to have been doing what they were doing. He had tried explaining that to Ban, but when he had him against the wall and started kissing him that way it suddenly didn't seem like such a bad idea. Unfortunately, even though the bad lighting gave them some privacy, it also made it next to impossible to see, and the next thing he knew, his foot had caught on some old equipment and they were crashing to the ground together.
Ban, thanks to his usual damn good luck, had escaped unscathed. "It's looking pretty bad. Maybe we should take you to the med room?" His hand hovered over the injury as he spoke.
"Forget it. I'm fine." Hoji had been humiliated enough today, the last thing he needed was to explain to DekaBase's medical staff just how and why he had suffered an injury on such a slow crime day. He tried getting up to leave... but it hurt too much to even stand.
"I guess that settles it." Without warning, Ban scooped Hoji up in his arms and headed towards the door.
Hoji was too shocked to say anything at first, but found his voice soon enough. "What the hell are you doing!"
"You can't walk, so I'm carrying you to the med room," Ban answered plaintively.
"And what do you plan on telling them when they ask how I twisted my ankle?"
"Hmm... good point." Ban thought about it for a moment, and then smiled at him. "I know! You were ice skating and slipped!"
"... Try again."
"You were dancing?"
He decided to close his eyes and pretend Ban didn't exist. Why couldn't I have broken my neck instead?
"Well, guess we'll just have to come up something when we get there!" Ban declared as he made his way to the med room with Hoji in tow. The walk there went by much more smoothly than Hoji could have hoped. A few tech workers did stop and stare, but not for long. He imagined that had something to do with the fact that he probably looked like he was this close to killing anyone who so much as glanced at him funny.
By the time the med room was in eyesight, Hoji was about to thank whoever was out there that at least this had gone over without incident... until he saw her. The only person on DekaBase who had known him long enough not only to be completely unswayed by any of his abrasive tendencies, but enjoyed teasing him for it.
"Hello there, little Princess," Jasmine said calmly as she patted him on the cheek. "I see your prince came to your rescue."
To make matters worse, Ban latched on the idea immediately, responding with a cheerful "Yep!".
Hoji resigned himself to his fate. "I don't suppose there's a chance of me ever living this down?"
Jasmine smiled enigmatically. "'Fraid not."
