Hey guys, it's FatesxColliding.
This is the second installment to my Harry Potter & Eragon fanfics. This one's more Eragon themed. Enjoy!
p.s.: please leave reviews so I know what I can improve on!
I was finally home after two long, but incredibly amazing months with Harry. Those two months had been the best of my life. I was really excited to tell Lyra, my twin sister, all about them. That is, if she didn't kill me first for not coming home sooner or bringing Harry with me. I opened the door to my house and walked in. It felt so good to finally be home again.
"Lira," Harry whispered to me, "I think it would be a relatively good idea if I just stayed in your room for now."
"That probably is a good idea," I agreed. "Do you remember which one it is?" He nodded. He walked silently up the stairs, and slipped into my room. He closed the door behind him.
I walked cautiously into the living room; the one room Lyra would be in no matter what. I knew she would be so mad at me for not telling her that I was staying with Harry, especially taking off in the way that I did, but I hadn't known any better at the time. I saw her sitting in her chair by the window, and she was deep in thought. I almost felt bad interrupting her. "Lyra," I muttered. She flinched, obviously alarmed to be disturbed. She looked at me. Her eyes widened, and her jaw dropped. She jumped out of the chair, and hugged me.
"Oh my god, Lira!" she exclaimed. "I've been so scared! I thought you were never coming back!" She finally released me from her embrace. This was definitely the exact opposite of what I had been expecting.
"Is something wrong…?" I asked her. I could tell she was shocked by something. I couldn't possibly figure out what it was considering I had only spoken three words.
"What do you mean? How could you not know what's going on?"
"Well," I paused. I knew she wouldn't be content with my excuse. "I've kind of been with Harry these past two months. Glaydor hasn't really told me much about anything. Only that you and Saphire were okay."
"Oh, that's right… I forgot about Harry…" She looked down. "I'm surprised that Glaydor hasn't been telling you anything."
"Would you mind telling me?"
"It looks like I have to. Even though I'd so much rather discuss you and Harry." I laughed.
"I'd rather discuss that too. But you really should tell me what's going on first."
"Well, there's an issue with our people… they need us to help."
"What terms of help?"
"As riders." Lyra studied my reaction. I didn't want to leave Harry for this! And on top of that, he was bound to find out about everything I hadn't told him so far, and I didn't know if I was ready for that yet.
"Lyra, is this issue one of violence?" She hesitated.
"Unfortunately, yes. We've been invaded by unknown forces, and they're putting up a tough fight. I don't want to either, but I'm afraid we'll be in worse condition if we don't help." There was one more question I needed to know the answer to, but I was too afraid to ask. I remained in my state of shocked silence. Glaydor had no right at all to keep this from me.
"I can't do it…" I managed to say after a few minutes. "I can't leave Harry and have no guarantee of returning alive!"
"Lira, we have to. We're expected in Ceris in five days. And then from there, we have to go to Galfni. We need at least two days to fly, probably three. I'm leaving in two days, and I highly suggest we fly together." My mind was racing. I had two days left with Harry before my life was at possibility of ending. Only two days!
