I still don't know what I'm doing.

But at least this makes more sense.

Disclaimer: I seriously wish I owned the characters, but I only own Maru.

One cookie to whoever can name the quote, the fandom it's from, and the character who said it.

"We're a lot alike, you and I."

Loki's startled out of his thoughts, away from the book he's holding by the voice of Tony Stark. He feels his nose wrinkle in almost amusement, and there's a quirk to his lips.

"We, Stark, are nothing alike."

Tony gives a brief chuckle, staring down at the book on his lap.

"I figured you'd say that."

"And now you're a mind reader."

Loki tilts his head to the side, resting his head on one hand, and Tony looks up at him.

"No. I guess Maru's people skills are rubbing off on me."

"Right."

Maru. Loki has never liked Maru. She is a young woman; maybe twenty-five, and a bright minded musician. He might've liked Maru, if he'd met her under different circumstances, but he didn't, and it was actually a shame.

She might've been a good ally.

Tony studies Loki for a while, and Loki just gazes back at him.

"We're very different, Stark. Different interests, different ideals, different species, different everything. Focusing on what little is the same between us is a waste of time."

Tony lets out a true laugh this time.

Loki grins at the sound, and finds himself standing and moving to sit on the coffee table in front of Stark.

"And just what is so funny about that?" He asks, eyes managing a glitter. Tony closes his book and uncrosses his legs, and he smiles.

"It's just… I admire your logical mind, and yet you have the faultiest logic I think I've seen in a long time." Loki furrows his brow, and Tony takes slender hands in his.

"We have more in common than you think. I see… Two feet," He taps his toes against Loki's shoes. "Two hands, two eyes… a nose…" He reaches up to tap the slightly upturned nose the God had. "Two ears, two eyes." Loki rolls his eyes, but smiles anyway.

"And what's your point, Stark?" He asks simply.

"We do have a lot in common." Tony replies. "The same earth, the same air, the same sky. Maybe if we started looking at what's the same instead of what's different…" He looks up at Loki. "Well, who knows?"

The God sighs, then rests his forehead against Tony's.

"You confuse me." He murmurs after a minute of searching Tony's eyes. He loops his arms around the other's neck, and loosely curls a short piece of hair around each finger.

"How so?" Tony asks in a whisper, hands coming to rest on the God's waist.

"You're usually so shallow. A thick-skulled man focusing more on technical science than philosophy." Loki pouts. "And suddenly, you have an entire argument about how alike we are. You confuse me."

Tony chuckles;

"So, I'm a little confusing, and so are you. Just another way we're alike. Sarcastic, pranksters, mischievous, smart guys who confuse people and happen to currently live on the same planet, under the same sky, breathing the same air."

Loki can't say anything in response.

"Suddenly, we don't seem so different, do we?"

"…No. We don't." The trickster replies.

"You know what?"

"What?"

"He doesn't know, but I have the urge to kiss the guy across from me."

Tony grins, and Loki mirrors him, then hums, leaning closer.

"I suppose, Tony, that that's another thing you and I have in common…"

Tony hums into the kiss Loki places on his lips, and he smiles when he pulls away.

"Yeah. I suppose it is." He replies. "And if I wanted to kiss him again?"

"And another."
