They thought they were close, but when he said it, it seemed like it would be different.
Not that different is bad. But the different he wanted was different from what he knew. Jay slumped in his comfortable seat on the Oresoren rug, thinking of what would have been if things were different.
He hated what he was feeling. He hated when he smiled, he hated when he talked to him, he hated when he came inches closer than he already was.
But hating Moses became so difficult, after that conversation.
Moses and Jay were arguing like always, on something stupid, as Norma would say, but things lead to something deeper than a stupid monster they already defeated.
After Moses apologized with a little help from Will and his fist, Jay finally agreed to shake hands. When they touched, everything seemed to stop. He didn't know what was going on with him, he blushed everytime they were together and he didn't call him 'stupid bandit' as much as he used to.
But the most embarrassing part was…
…Jay wouldn't let go of Moses' hand.
When things started to heat up, Jay finally let go and snapped back to reality, full of taunts and shivers. Then he replied.
"That's okay! He's my little ol' bro after all right ya'll?"
He seemed disappointed, and broken. It was alright that he though of him so closely, but he wondered if he felt anything closer than that.
Reminiscing was over, Jay sighed. Why did he have to feel this way…? This feeling seemed so dangerous that he couldn't help but like it. He did like dangerous things.
But why did it have to be this dangerous?
After a thinking, Jay shrugged everything off, sighed and smiled standing up. Maybe, just maybe, if things became different, if he felt the same way, if things started to move on, then maybe he would do the same things he was doing. Blushing, stammering when asked to talk…
But if that time doesn't come just yet, then it would still be okay with Jay.
If this was the closest they would get, then so be it. As long as they're close, then he knew everything would be a-okay.
