Chapter 1: The True Kaleido Star and her Amazing Partner
The audience boomed as Sora and Leon embraced each other in their ending pose. She had fulfilled her goal of a conflict-free stage, and he had fulfilled his promise long ago to Sophie. Both hearts were beating faster than normal. They blamed it on the adrenaline, having just completed the 'Angels Maneuver;' however, in the warm embrace of the other, they knew that something had changed within them.
From the audience, Fool watched the pair, smirking to himself. Only time will tell with these two, he thought.
It was crazy after the show. People were congratulating Sora and Leon on their performance. The ever bubbly red head stated that it was the work of all the cast and crew that made the show such a success, while the Pegasus of the Stage remained subdued off to the side.
Deep in thought, he hadn't noticed Sora approach.
"Leon, are you okay?" She waved her hand up and down in front of his face.
He pushed her hand aside. "Yes."
Leon walked away from the commotion and back to his dressing room. Closing the door behind him, he sighed. He needed to be alone and gather his conflicting thoughts about his partner. After all, she had helped him fulfill Sophie's dream. During the performance, he had realized just how much of an impact that had on him. He couldn't help but stand there, mesmerized by the way she moved in the final act. He couldn't help but lean in just a little when she came his way. In his head was a ball of mixed emotions. Feelings of Happiness, excitement, and awe were there of course; however, there was also another feeling. He didn't know why, but he felt that this performance was just the beginning. The beginning of what, he did not yet know.
Leon shook his thoughts away and changed into his usual attire. As he opened the door, he saw Sora with her hand up looking like she was about to knock on the door.
"Hi Leon," Sora laughed nervously.
"Sora?" The girl he was just thinking about mere minutes before was right at his door. He could not place it, but something had shifted between the two of them. As he looked up from his thoughts, he could see Sora had been babbling on and on the entire time they were standing there. Feeling bad, he nodded and pretended he had listened.
"So Leon?"
"Yes."
"Are you coming?"
And, this is why he should have actually listened in the first place. What was she talking about? He would feel bad if he asked, since she had just stated where they were going, but at the same time, he didn't want to be dragged to someplace he didn't want to go. Using deductive reasoning, he figured it'd be some sort of cast gathering, which he was okay with.
"Sure," he simply stated.
"Oh really? That's great! Okay, we're meeting up at the lobby around 6pm and carpooling over the restaurant." Sora was thrilled that he had accepted the offer. She found herself giddy that they would get to spend time together outside of training and the show.
Leon nodded, acknowledging that the time worked for him. Checking his watch, he had some time to spare between now and 6pm.
Later that night
"You're late!" everyone exclaimed as Sora arrived.
"Sorry, I didn't know what to wear," she sheepishly stated. She didn't want to admit it, but it took her hours to figure out the perfect outfit for tonight. She wanted to look nice. After all, there was much to celebrate.
Leon couldn't help but gasp as he turned and saw her. Sora dawned a beautiful chinese patterned evening gown that just touched the floor. It was her favorite color, red, to match her hair. The dress fit her figure perfectly. Her hair was pinned in an elegant half up-do, a stark contrast to her normal free flowing locks. She was so beautiful.
As she walked nervously up to the group, she couldn't help but see that the mens' eyes were slightly wide and their mouth's were agape.
"Um, hey everyone," she said.
The girls didn't take long to comment on how beautiful she looked, while the guys were still left speechless.
"Hi Sora!" Sarah bounced over to her. "You look beautiful as always. Trying to impress a certain someone?"
Sora laughed nervously. Was she? Over the past few weeks, she had thought about her partnership with Leon a great deal. They had gotten closer as the Angel's Maneuver training moved along, but she had accounted that was due to the amount of time they had spent perfecting the move.
Leon, Yuri, and Ken had straightened themselves out and joined the rest of the group as they walked to the waiting limo.
"Hey you guys, finally coming?" Rosetta laughed.
"Um, hehe yes." They all let out a sigh.
Then Leon spoke, turning to the girls, though his eyes landed on Sora, "Um you all look very beautiful tonight." Their eyes briefly met before Sarah interrupted.
"Come on. The limo's waiting."
Everyone ran to the limo, excited. Tonight was going to be a fun night.
