Shepard's Traumatic Experience
After Shepard had died, the Council started to call her insane and had "suffered a traumatic experience". Although many thought this a false accusation, the Council was right, Shepard did get traumatized, though not in the way they thought. Shepard was not traumatized by stress or battle, no; Shepard was traumatized by a near 200 year old extranet video.
Kaidan P.O.V, 10 Hours ETA to Illos
Kaidan waited for what seemed like an eternity for the slow elevator to reach its destination. When the wait was finally finished, he stepped out and walked toward Shepard's quarters. As he opened the door he saw what had to be the most pitiful and confusing thing he had ever seen in his entire military career. There on the floor, curled into a ball was Commander Allison Shepard.
"Uh…Shepard? What are you doing on the floor?"Kaidan asked confused as to what might have caused her current condition.
"Run Kaidan…before you see it…before it controls you…before it burns its being into your mind."
"Shepard what are you talking about? What is 'it'?"
"T-The t-terminal…look on the terminal."She stuttered. As Kaidan walked over he was unsure as to look on the terminal and possibly traumatize himself or not. Before he had any chance to think about the consequences of his choice, he activated the terminal and the video that was displayed on it. When he started the video he saw…a cat? Could it even be considered that? The head, legs, and tail were there but its body was replaced with…something he couldn't describe. The cat had…rainbows…rainbows were following and the downright strangest music he had ever heard was playing.
"So, the great Commander Shepard brought to her knees by this, a simple video." Kaidan couldn't help but laugh at this. Here was Shepard, traumatized by a video, not a battle she had fought, but this, a single video."May I ask how this happened?"
"Watched…four hours…nonstop."
"Well you need to go to sleep Shepard; we all know what's ahead of us. You need to be at your best for this one. Come here." Kaidan said as he lifted her and carried her to her bed. "Sleep well, Allison" As he lay her down, he couldn't help but think how that video could have put Shepard of all people into such a state. Once Allison was asleep he walked over to the terminal and started the video again. 'What harm could it do?' He thought.
NO KAIDAN! RUN! RUN BEFORE IT CONTROLS YOU! So as you can see, I have a thing against Nyan Cat. I mean look at it! With how many times it repeats itself, and seeing as there is a 10 HOUR version, it has to have put someone in some sorry state.
