I don't own ROTG
Jack clutched his head and rocked back and forth.
They don't love you-
-Just wait, they'll kick you out in no time-
-You think you belong with them? Oh please, the only place you belong is at the bottom of a crevice!-
"No…"
-liability-
-stupid-
"No!"
-FREAK-
"SHUT UP!" Jack screamed as tears streamed down his cheeks. Weaker, Jack muttered, "Stop…"
"Jack?" the angry voice of E. Aster Bunnymund appeared out of the freezing snowstorm accompanied by a tall shadow. "It's spring. What the bloody hell are you doing?"
"Bunny!" Jack's eyes searched hungerly for their savior. "Please…"
"What, Jack? Stop this snowstorm right now or I'll make it my personal goal to lock you up-"
See? He doesn't want you.
"-in one of North's broom closets-"
He just wants you out of the picture
"-for the next ten years of your-"
How weak and pathetic of you to ever think they love you.
"-life."
"BUNNY!"
"Huh?" Bunny looked down and saw the sheer panic and terror in Jack's eyes.
You disgust me.
Then, without warning, Jack clamped his hands over his ears and screamed. It was the loudest, most heartbreaking screams Aster had heard in his entire life.
"JACK!" Aster dropped to the ground and seized Jack's shoulders with his paws. He shook Jack and tried to shout over the noise but it was as if Jack was off in his own little world.
As suddenly as the screaming started, it stopped. Jack collapsed on Aster, all his energy sucked out of him. He was left shaking with his eyes shut as tight as possible and his chest heaving.
"Jackie?" Bunny said gently, rubbing circles around Jack's back. "Talk to me. What's going on?"
"I-I-I just w-want them to...to…" Jack faltered as he tried to hold back a sob.
"To what?" Bunny said as gently as possible.
"To...STOP," and with that, all of Jack's barriers collapsed and he broke down on Bunny's shoulders. He buried his face into Aster's fur and sobbed.
"I don't like hearing them. They're not nice. I want them to leave me alone!" he wept.
"Oh, Jack," Bunny wasn't sure how to react. He had never seen Jack so helpless before. His blue eyes were broken and all the fun gleam that seemed to define Jack as a whole was gone. Jack was reduced to a crumpled mess.
"Listen, we're gonna get you through this," Bunny said determinedly.
Jack was a mixture of shocked and confused. "We?"
"Yes, we!" Aster chuckled. "You seem to forget that you're a guardian sometimes."
"I'm sorry. I've just been so alone for so long…" Jack sniffed.
Aster gave Jack a warm smile that seemed to fill those wide blue eyes with hope "But you're not alone anymore, Frosbite. We're all here for you. We're your family now. And family looks out of each other no matter what."
"Really?"
"Really."
Welp, I told myself I wouldn't write a oneshot. And then I wrote a oneshot.
Uhhh so yeah. I have no idea what made me write this. It just kinda...happened. Anyways, enjoy!
