Disclaimer: I don't own Life With Derek. Never have nor will (nor do I want to).
A/N: Okay, so I guess I should write one of these. Well I don't like Dasey but I made it for my sister. It has an anti spin on it to say the least.
Editor's Note: HEHE!! So this is Allybooklover6677 and I edited the WHOLE story! So I am a Daseyer and I was tempted to change the ending to a Dasey get-together but decided against it (I would be murdered if a changed the plot!). Well..... ENJOY!!
Casey walks in through the front the doorway as Derek walks in through the back door. They meet in the living room and both say:
"I need to talk to you!"
"You go first," Casey says.
"No, you!" Derek says.
Casey rolls her eyes. "Fine!" She takes a deep breath and starts. "I know that you just dumped Sally and I want to say that I know how you feel."
"Really?" Derek says, "How do I feel?" he asks sarcastically.
Casey ignores his sarcasm. "You feel alone and angry inside, I felt the same way after I broke up with Max." Casey says. "So I've decided that I'm going to help you get over her."
Derek rolls his eyes, "Why would you do that?" He asks.
"Well... becauseā¦" She begins nervously.
Derek interrupts with an incredulous look on his face. "You like me!" he realizes, surprised.
"NO!" Casey retorts. "Well, you're my brother" she begins before being interrupted by Derek again.
"STEP-brother if you're forgetting," Derek corrects.
"Same thing," mutters Casey.
Marti walks down the stairs. "What are you doing?" she asks.
"Nothing, Marti." Derek says. "Go back upstairs."
Marti pouts a bit before stomping back up the stairs. "I'll find out you know," she calls back to them, "Lizzie and Edwin will tell me."
Casey and Derek ignore her last comment.
Casey softy starts, "Derek, we're related. It may be by marriage but we'll never be together, mom and George won't allow it."
Derek doesn't want to give up that easily. "Casey come on! I don't care what they think!"
"But I do." Casey whispers quietly. "And what about our friends and the kids at school? They will still see it as incest."
Derek didn't want to admit defeat, after all, Venturi's never admit defeat , but there wasn't much he could say. Casey had a point, and another thing he hated admitting was that he actually cared what other people thought of him.
Casey looks at Derek, "I guess you're just going to have to get over it."
"What about you?" Derek asks, offended.
"I'm already over it." Casey lies before heading up the stairs.
Derek is left alone at the base of the stairs. It annoys him and hurts him to no end to know that there is nothing he can do; nothing that will change the fact that their parents are married.
Derek sighs, as much as he hates it maybe Casey is right, maybe he should just get over it. Derek groans when he realizes that there is still another year before college, when he can finally get away from Casey and thoughts of her. Derek laughs at the irony; waking into the house he was mad at his ex-girlfriend, Sally, now all his thoughts are focused on Casey and getting over her. Derek goes to sit on the couch. Maybe it's best just to pretend this confrontment never happened.
Upstairs Casey collapses on her bed. There will be no escape from Derek. How is she supposed to get over him? Maybe it's best to just erase her crush from memory. Or maybe she should just pretend she doesn't like him, eventually she may just get over him but at least she got her feelings out of the way.
Both Derek and Casey come to the realization: They will never be together.
okay, so please REVIEW, even if you do hate the ending.
