Hey, just before I begin I want to say thank you. This story was inspired by Irk Splee's 'One Hundred Reasons: Reason 20: Heaven'. This was some major inspiration (Plus me thinking of this story in the middle of the night. Hey, It takes a while for me to fall asleep without my Ipod. I can't help it). So again, thank you.
Please enjoy the story!
Mike ran through the house, desperate to outrun his drunk father. Even though Mike was fast, he wasn't fast enough. His father grabbed him, and held him up to eye level.
'Alright you little freak,' The man said to the frightned 7-year-old. 'I'll teach you to run from me,'
The man raised the metal bat that was in his hand. Mike's eyes widened in fear. 'Not again,' He thought. 'Please, not again,'
As the man swung the bat down, Mike closed his eyes and braced himself.
Mike woke up in cold sweat. He looked around the room and relaxed a little.
Ever since he had fought off his MPD, he had been bothered by something else: Nightmares.
All because of that stupid man.
Of course, when the authorities got wind of this, he was immediatly placed into foster care, and was later adopted by much more loving parents.
But that didn't change anything he expierienced during the first 10 years of his life.
From then onwards, he had Multiple Personality Disorder, a disorder where he changed identities constantly.
This was in affect for a long time, making his life miserable.
Then he met Zoey.
She completely turned his life around. After Total Drama Revenge Of The Island, they found out that they live close by, and within a few months they were going to the same school.
He had overcome his MPD a few weeks ago, which was a good thing.
But he soon developed nightmares about his past life as a result.
Unfortunately, this couldn't be controlled with medication. If anything, it just made them worse.
Mike lay back down on his pillow. While the past is the past, he still had all those terrible memories from a childhood that he wanted to forget.
He looked at his alarm. 1:30 am. It was pretty early in the morning.
Then he looked over to his sleeping girlfriend Zoey. Ever since he had hooked up with her, his life had been resonably better.
Even at his worst, she was there for him.
Things were never easy. There would be days when Mike wasn't able to leave the house without something happening.
There were also times when one of his personalities popped out and he had no control over them.
But even through that, Zoey was still there for him.
He took a deep breath, and closed his eyes. Even though he would probably have nightmares for the rest of his life, he would always have Zoey there to comfort him.
So there you go. Sorry, but I'm completely shit at writing summaries. Chosen out.
