Kanto, a region that is well knowned to others everywhere in the world. This is one of the regions where people and Pocket Monsters (Pokémon for short) live together in harmony. Some form a bond of friendship with their Pokemon while others compete alongside their Pokemon in battles, these are the Pokemon Trainers.
And speaking of Pokemon trainers, one of the biggest battles in Kanto are happening as of right inside a stadium and the infamous Indigo Plateau.
"The final match of the Pokemon League are now underway!",A male announcer roars out to a very excited audience who was cheering loudly.
On one side of the field was a Blastoise and on the other side was a Gengar.
The Shellfish Pokemon flies around the stadium with its shell spinning, heading towarda Gengar, but the ghost type quickly jumps out of the way.
"Gengar, use Night Shade!",the male trainer commanded. Gengar leaps and fires a dark beam from its eyes. Blastoise quickly gets on its back as the night shade hits its shell, withstanding the attack.
"Shell Shocker, Ice Beam!" The female trainer said as Blastoise released a blue beam freezing Gengar in a giant iceburg.
"Gengar is frozen solid and looks like he's out of the match!",The announcer says as the trainer returns his Pokemon. He switches and enlarges another Pokeball and throws it. "I choose you Bruteroot!"
Out from the ball comes Bulbasaur's final evolution:Venusaur.
"Shell Shocker use Skull Bash!"
"Brute Root, Double Edge!"
Both final Pokemon starter evolutions charge at each other and smash into each other, and started pushing the other back. The impact sends the other back onto their side of the field.
"Use your Hydro Pump!",the female said.
"Use Solar Beam!",the boy trainer said.
From Venusaur's bulb, green energy was formed and in Blastoise's back cannon's they began to charge up. The two then fired their strongest attacks, creating a huge explosion.
As we zoom out we see that it was being viewed on a TV screen in a bedroom.
"Man, those guys are really giving their all.",a young male voice said who was watching it all. He had messy black hair, wearing pajama shorts and black shirt. This is Ashton Ketchum, and he lives in Pallet Town.
You see to become a trainer one must wait until they reach the age of 13 before they are allowed to get their first Pokemon and are allowed to travel the regions and tomorrow is the day Ash finally gets his Pokemon.
They are allowed of choosing of the three choices available: Bulbasaur, Squirtle and Charmander. Ash looks to his desk and sees a red and white hat with a half green Pokéball logo laying on it. Grinning Ash walks over.
"Tomorrow I finally get to make my choice.",Ash said putting the hat on his head.
"Ash! Get to bed!" A female voice said startling him. Looking over he saw a woman with brown hair, a pink shirt and a blue skirt at his door. This was Delia Ketchum, his mother.
"Don't you see what time it is?",she points to the clock on the wall, which read 10:43 PM.
"Sorry Mom, guess I'm a little excited for tomorrow." Ash said rubbing the back of his head.
"Well if you don't get to bed you won't have energy tomorrow and you need to get your Pokemon before they're all taken." Delia said.
Ash knows that his mother was right about that, especially the last part. So after his mother left the room, Ash changes into his pajama's and headed off to bed.
As Ash drifted off into sleep he started dreaming about which Pokemon he could choose from. First there was Bulbasaur, the Grass Type. Its attacks are very strong and it is able to release a series of powder based attacks which can really affect other Pokemon.
He then dreamt of having Squirtle, it has strong water type attacks and not to mention thanks to its hard shell, it has a strong defense. Making a good Pokemon to have in the beginning.
Then finally there was Charmander, the fire type. It's attacks are strong, it's very quick on it's feet and it has the ability to learn a wide range of attacks.
Ash dosen't know which one to choose from. All 3 sound great to have, but it dosen't work like that. He sleeps on that thought.
That very next day...
The next morning Ash woke up to the sound of a loud chirping noise. Sitting up he saw that it was from his alarm clock. It opened up to show a Pidgey opening up and chirping. He closes it, hitting the snooze button.
Yawning, Ash gets up and got dressed for the day. When he was done, Ash's wardrobe consisted of a short sleeve dark blue jacket with pockets with a gold trim, kept his black shirt, blue jeans, black and white sneakers and wore the hat from last night on his head.
(Basically his out clothes from Pokemon: I Choose You Movie)
As he made his way downstairs where his mom was sitting at the table drinking tea. "Morning.",he yawned.
"Morning sweetie, you ready?" Delia asks.
"Yep, I'll be back for breakfast after I get my Pokemon." Ash said putting on his shoes. He leaves his house and started to run down the road.
As he made his way up the hill to a building with a windmill he noticed a girl with brown hair, a white hat, blue shirt and red skirt making her way down the hill.
"Hey Leaf!",he called out to get her attention.
The girl looks down and smiles. "Ash!" She runs down to him and takes out a Pokeball. "Check it out! First one there."
"Aw really?",Ash said. "Well what'd you get?"
Leaf opens the Pokeball and from it a green Pokemon with a bulb on its back appeared.
"Bulbasaur." It said.
"I knew you were going to pick that one." Ash smirks.
"It's a no duh on who was I getting.",Leaf said picking up the grass types. "Plus it's adorable.",she said rubbing its bulb making Bulbsaur smile at her.
"Well I'll see you later Leaf. At least it's easier with just two choices now." Ash said.
"Hey you guys.",Someone said as Ash was about to continue up the hill. They turn and sees a boy their age with auburn blonde hair,he wore a teal short-sleeve shirt with light yellow trim, a dark teal vest with a light green collar, teal pants, and he wore a purple and yellow cap.
"Hey Richie." Ash smiles as the two of them high five.
"I was about to say bye to my folks.",Leaf said. "Ash was just about to head up there."
"I just came back from up there. Here's my Pokemon. Come on out Zippo!" Richie said throwing a pokeball and from it an orange lizard Pokemon with a flame on his tail appeared.
"Charmander." It said.
"Oh you decided to give yours a nickname?" Ash asks.
Richie nods. "Yup. That way I won't lose him if someone else has the same Pokemon."
"Smart thinking, Richie." Leaf said.
"Well you got Charmander, you got Bulbasaur, so that means there's only one Pokemon left and that's Squirtle.",Ash said realizing this.
"I think Squirtle would be a great Pokemon for you." Leaf said.
"Yeah you better hurry before someone else takes it.",Richie tells him.
"You two already got one who else is...oh my Arceus." Ash's eyes widened. He quickly runs up the stairs.
"Please no! Please no! Please no!" Ash said while he making his way all the way to the top of the hill. As he was about to knock on the door, it opened up and Ash bumped into someone and they fell to the ground.
"Ow." Ash groaned he looks to see a boy his age with spiky brown hair, long purple shirt, dark gray pants, a yin and yang necklace, and brown boots with black straps encircling them.
"Hey watch where you're going! Huh? Well if it isn't Ashy boy."
Ash then saw who it was and grunts. "Gary."
"Well Ashy boy you snooze you lose and you're behind right from the start. I have a Pokemon and you don't." Gary mocks.
Ash's eyes widened. "Don't tell me that you got the last Pokemon?!"
"That's right mister and it's right inside this Pokeball." Gary said spinning it on his finger.
'N-no way, all 3 Pokemon are taken?!',Ash thought in horror.
"Have fun starting your journey Ash, though without any Pokemon it won't be much of one.",Gary said walking away laughing.
Ash growled at the boy walking off. "Why that little piece of.."
"I'd wouldn't finish that sentence if I were you Ash.",a female voice said behind him. Ash turns amd he sees a teenage young woman with brown hair, wearing a green dress.
"D-Daisy."
"You don't insult people behind their backs, be the better man." Daisy said.
"But..it's Gary.",Ash said.
"You think I don't know how annoying he can be? Ash if you let his insults get to you he'll keep doing it forever." Daisy said.
Ash frowns hearing this and then sighs. "Alright, fine."
Daisy opens the door and lets Ash into the lab where he sees multiple screens and inventions.
"Grandpa! Ash is here!",she calls out.
From another room, an old man with gray hair in a lab coat came in. "Good morning Ash, I've been expecting you to come by."
"Yeah, too bad I came too late." Ash sighs.
"I'm sorry Ash, you did came on time, but I'm afraid those 3 gotten here a little bit earlier than you.",the old man said sadly.
"Is there anything you can do? I can't start my journey without a Pokemon." Ash asks.
"Well there is one, but I'm not sure." Prof. Oak said.
Daisy's eyes widened. "Grandpa, not that.",she said denying it.
"What's she talking about Prof? What's the Pokemon you're talking about?",Ash asks.
Up on the next floor they heard scurrying.
"You see Ash there's something special about this Pokemon." Prof. Oak said as a yellow Pokemon looked down at them.
That's when Ash saw a glimpse of it from above, before it went away. "What was that?",he asks.
He then heard scurrying again and then saw something come down the stairs. It was a yellow mouse Pokemon with a lightning bolt shaped tail.
"Ash, this is Pikachu." Prof. Oak introduces.
"A Pikachu?",Ash said as he looks down to it. "It looks like a cute little guy."
"Don't let its appearance fool you Ash." Daisy warns.
Ash turns to her confused. "What do you mean?"
"You see Pikachu is an electric type and is very...well...what's the word I'm looking for?" Prof. Oak asks.
Ash dosen't know what they were talking about, so he decides to bend down to the little mouse's level. "Hey there Pikachu, I'm Ash. Nice to meet you.",Ash holds his hand out.
"Pika." Pikachu glares and zaps Ash with a Thundershock making him scream in pain.
"Shy and aggresive."
"Now I get it." Ash said in pain twitching from the shock.
Pikachu looks away from the humans and licks his furr. Ash gets up with a groan.
"Are you ok Ash?",Daisy asks.
"I just got zapped Daisy, what do you think?",Ash said.
"This is why we were hesitant Ash, this Pikachu is very difficult to train. It even refuses to go in its own Pokeball." Prof. Oak said.
Ash looks at the electric type. "Do you know why it's acting like this?"
"Not really, we've tried, but he refuses to open up.",Daisy said.
"Now Ash, do you really want to have this as your first Pokemon?",Prof. Oak asks him.
"I have to have a Pokemon." Ash insists.
Seeing how Ash didn't had no other choice, they both reluctantly agreed to this. "Alright..but I hope you know what you're getting yourself into.",Daisy said.
Daisy gives Ash Pikachu's Pokeball as Prof. Oak hands the mouse Pokemon to him.
"Now with that out of the way, let me give you these.",Prof. Oak gets out of his coat pocket, a small red device and 6 pokeballs. "These are your Pokedex (GEN 3 version) for scanning the data on every single Pokemon you spot, along with your Pokeballs for catching Pokemon, you can only carry 6 Pokemon on you."
"Any other Pokemon you catch will be teleported back here to the lab.",Daisy added.
"Thanks Prof. Oak, thanks Daisy." Ash said taking them. Ash then looks Pikachu with the Pokeball in his hand, and the mouse just turns away from him. Ash sighs abit. 'Now how am I supposed to deal with this?'
A few hours later Ash was literally dragging Pikachu a hill using a fishing line because Pikachu had refused to even budge. Ash stops and sighed and turns to the mouse. "Are you be like this the entire way Pikachu?"
"Pika." Pikachu said looking away from him.
Ash then gets on a knee to get to Pikachu's level. "Do you hate me?",he asks.
Pikachu nodded. "Pikapika."
"Well I like you, I think you're a cool Pokemon.",Ash said trying to get on Pikachu's good side, but the mouse turns with a scoff.
"Look I'll even let you go." Ash said undoing the fishing line. "See?"
He offers Pikachu a handshake, but Pikachu turns away again.
"Come on Pikachu, what's wrong?" Ash asks.
"PikaPikachu!",Pikachu turned to Ash with annoyed look.
'No wonder Prof. Oak and Daisy were so hesitant about him.' Ash thought.
They suddenly hear a small noise. Ash turns to the tall grass and he sees a small brown bird Pokémon pecking the ground.
"A Pidgey." Ash smiles taking out his Pokédex.
Entry No. 16
Data: Pidgey, the Tiny Bird Pokémon. These Pokémon are common sights in forests, woods and any kind of grassy area. It flaps its wings at ground level to kick up blinding sand at their enemies.
"I've always wanted one.",he said turning to Pikachu. "Go get it Pikachu!",he pointed to the bird, but Pikachu ignores him again, scratching his ears. "Come on, can you at least co-operate with me just once?"
Pikachu turns away completely ignoring him.
Ash groans, but then glares at the rodent. "Fine, I don't need your help. I can catch this all by myself." Frusterated without any thought, Ash takes out a Pokéball and throws it at the Pidgey. When the ball hits Pidgey a red beam shoots out and pulls Pidgey in. The ball wiggles once before opening and releasing Pidgey.
Ash realized his mistake and facepalms. 'What am I doing?! I'm supposed to weaken first then catch!',he thought.
Pikachu was giggling seeing the boy fail.
"Oh shut up! I wouldn't have even made that mistake if you would just listen." Ash glares.
Pikachu just yawned.
'Why couldn't I have gotten any other Pokemon BUT this one?!' Ash thought as he kicked a rock that went flying past Pikachu and into the tall grass hitting something.
Up from the grass, a small brown bird with a pink beak and mean glare looked up with a bump on its head.
Ash's eyes widened in fear. "A S-spearow..",he gulped and stepped only to fall on his back and Pikachu laughed at him again.
Spearow turns to see Pikachu laughing and thought he was the one who hit him, it instantly glared as he lets out a shriek.
Pikachu stopped laughing and saw the flying type pokemon flew right at him. He jumped out of the way at the nick of time and then fires a Thundershock at the Spearow, zapping it in the air.
Spearow shrieks in pain as breaks out of Thundershock and calls out into the air causing more Spearow to fly towards the two.
Ash and Pikachu looked in sheer horror at the event that's happening now. There's only 1 option they have left...RUN! The two hightailed it with the Spearow flock right behind them.
As they ran for their lives Pikachu tripped on the ground allowing multiple Spearows to swarm him and deliver a series of Peck attacks.
"Leave it alone!",Ash said pushing them all away. "I'm the one who kicked the rock! Pikachu didn't do anything to you!",he yelled going through them all while also getting pecked and scratched. Ash picked up the weakened Pikachu and runs off.
Ash ran as fast as he could until he took a wrong turn and came face to face with a river leading over a waterfall. Turning around Ash saw the flock of Spearow flying towards him. Seeing he had no choice, he took a deep breath and jumped off the cliff and splashed into the water.
At the bottom and down the river Ash resurfaced and climbed ashore.
"You okay Pikachu?" Ash asks.
"Pika." He said weakly as dark clouds formed in skies above and a storm started.
Ash grits his teeth seeing the mouse's condition. 'I gotta get Pikachu help fast!',he thought. Suddenly he hears flutter again and sees the Spearow flock coming back. With quick thinking, Ash hurried down a plain as it started to rain.
Soon thunder echoes as lightning struck nearby causing Ash to trip and fall dropping Pikachu. "Ow!" Ash groans. Looking up into the trees Ash's eyes widened to see the entire flock of Spearow glaring down at him and Pikachu from the trees.
Ash looks at how trapped he was and then looks to Pikachu on the ground. He crawled quickly up to Pikachu and puts a hand on him to see if he was breathing. Pikachu opened his eyes slowly and sees Ash. "Pikachu..."
Ash looks to Pikachu and then to the Spearow before coming to a decision. "Pikachu get in your Pokeball, you'll be safe there." Ash said placing Pikachu's Pokeball next to him before standing up to face the Spearow alone.
He turns his hat around and turned to all of them with a glare. "Spearow! You don't know who you're messing with! I'm Ash Ketchum from Pallet Town, and I'm going to be the world's greatest Pokemon Master! I won't lose to the likes of you!",he declares to them as all of the Spearow started flying up to form a circle in the air. Ash turns and sees Pikachu still outside. "Pikachu, please listen to me just this one time and get in your ball now!",he said to the mouse.
Pikachu sees the look on Ash's face, he was protecting him even though he was a real jerk to him earlier. That's when thunder crashed louder.
"GIVE ME YOUR BEST SHOT SPEAROW!",Ash yelled out loud.
All the Spearows screeched as they dove towards him as lightning struck the nearby tree. From that light Ash felt something run up his body. Looking in shock he sees Pikachu jump off his shoulder and towards the flock releasing a powerful Thunderbolt attack.
"PIIIKACHUUU!" Pikachu yells creating a flash of light.
A huge explosion was created,thus making all of the Spearow fly away. About a few minutes passed and it stopped raining.
Ash then stirred up abit as he started to wake up. He opens his eyes and sees Pikachu was looking at him.
"Pikachu...",Ash said in a weak voice. He slowly pulls Pikachu towards. He then felt Pikachu licked his cheek.
Ash looks at Pikachu surprised and sees a smile on Pikachu's face.
"Pikapi." Pikachu said weakly.
"So..are you really alright with me?",Ash asks hopefully. Pikachu nodded. Ash smiles hearing this when suddenly they heard a groaning sound nearby. "Huh?" Slowly picking himself up Ash heard the noise coming from the bushes nearby.
He opened them and was surprised on what he saw. There on the ground was one of the Spearow with bruises and breathing heavily.
"A Spearow?" Ash looks at it closely and notices a small bump on its head and realizes it was the one that started it all.
He looks to it. "Are you alright?"
Spearow looks to Ash and glares as he tries to move but was too hurt.
"Hey whoa there, take it easy." Ash said calmly.
"Spear..",it snarled at Ash, saying why are you here?
"Look I know we didn't get off to a great start and I'm sorry I threw the rock at hit you. I was angry and you shouldn't have been the victim of it. But that's in the past now, right now I'm looking at you with an opportunity. You see I'm going on a journey and I could really use some tough Pokemon and after our little experience I know you're tough." Ash said.
Spearow looks up at Ash hearing his words, when suddenly he sees Ash place an empty Pokeball in front of him.
"If you want, I can let you come with me and I promise to help you get even more stronger.",he offered. "What do you say?"
Spearow pauses to think about it before leaning in and pressing his beak to the Pokeball and a red beam shoots out. The ball wiggles 3 times and then clicks meaning Ash caught it. Thus making Ash catch his very first Pokemon.
Ash smiled as he put Spearow's Pokeball on his belt when suddenly a large shadow flew over him. Looking up Ash's eyes widen to see a large orange bird Pokemon fly over him.
"What's that?.."he said silently.
Suddenly from the Pokemon a feather dropped down towards Ash. Slowly reaching out Ash caught it in his hand.
Once he held it, the feather glows surprising him. He watches the Pokemon fly away until it disappeared into the sky and the feather stopped glowing.
"What was that Pokemon?" Ash asks.
A few minutes later Ash was carrying Pikachu up a hill, when they reached the top they saw Viridian City in the distance.
"Hey Pikachu..",Ash said to the mouse.
"Pika?" Pikachu asks looking at him.
"Think we'll ever see that Pokemon again?",he asks.
"Pikachu." Pikachu said hopefully.
"Yeah, me too." Ash smiles.
And so the two treked down the path to reach Viridian City, as of now with their bad blood in the past, Ash's adventure truly begins.

Well here was the first chapter. Never thought I would've got back to this story. Reason I stopped was I lost interest and the whole deal with Farla, St. Elmo and their team on my ass. So I stopped. Now I have blocked all of them and restart this story.
Now jurrasicdinodrew I would love it if you didn't spam your requests in the reviews after every chapter like you do in alot of stories on how you want Ash to catch Mew and have a Sylveon because its your favorite Pokemon and wants Pikachu and Mew to be together. Sorry, but I don't want to, cause I don't see it.
Also before any Ash haters complain on how Ash failed to catch Pidgey, he did it because he was angry and wasn't thinking right. Like I said in my rant I don't like your kind. None of your kind are welcomed here if all you do is hate on one Character and give all love to a silent avatar who lost to newbies all the time. (Scoff. Strongest trainer ever my ass)
Also Thor94, I don't think Ash will catch legendaries.
In this story, Ash is gonna have some aspects in the Original Series/20th Movie but he has some maturity in him and he knows what he's doing.
I won't be doing like every single Indigo League episode. Just the ones I like.
