If You Do Anything To Hurt Her

Summery: When Rodolphus comes to pick up Bellatrix to take her on their 'First Date', Cygnus has a little chat with him.

Chapter 1

June 25th, 1974, Black Family Manor, 7:00 P.M.

To say that Cygnus Black was an anxious man would be an understatement. Tonight was the night he finally met the man, Rodolphus Lestrange, that had asked his wife for permission to write up a marriage contract between himself and Cygnus's oldest daughter, Bellatrix Orion Black, who was 5 years younger then Rodolphus. He was scheduled to arrive in 5 minutes to take her out on a date.

Cygnus, while he was all for a good, pureblood marriage, was concerned. Bellatrix had always been his favorite daughter and he considered her his baby girl. Though it would be an arranged marriage, he still wanted to make sure she was treated right and wasn't abused or disrespected by this suitor.

That was what was on his mind as he laid out the 3 Black Family Wands on the table in the Parlor while he was waiting for Rodolphus to get there and for Bellatrix to come down from upstairs. They were a set of Wands that had been crafted by an old Wand Maker and while they varied in lengths, they all were made of Rose Wood with Black Ash lining and had Basilisk Venom and Fangs for the cores. They were all extremely powerful and excellent for performing Dark Spells and Rituals and had been passed down through their family since the First Black had ever lived.

Because he was Head of House, he was allowed to own them all and he was extremely talented when it came to Dueling with them.

As he polished the first one, he heard a knock on the door and said, "Durella, if that's him, send him into the parlor!"

Soon, Rodolphus Lestrange entered into the Parlor and Cygnus said, "Evening. Take a seat."

As he did, Cygnus stated, "So, you want to date and marry my Daughter."

Rodolphus nodded and answered, "Yes Sir."

As Cygnus took in his answer, he studied Rodolphus's behavior at the sight of his wands. He looked slightly nervous and appeared to be intimidated by the older man. Good. Then Cygnus was definitely doing his job as an Overprotective father.

He said, "You like these wands? They're the Family's. I keep them by my Bed Post and I carry two of them at all times on me."

Before Rodolphus could answer, Cygnus then continued, "Listen here, boy. I know that this Marriage between you and my Daughter is an arranged one made by my wife, but let me make several things clear. If you disrespect my Daughter in anyway, shape or form, I will kill you. Do you understand?"

Rodolphus gulped and replied, "Yes sir."

Cygnus then said, "And if you do anything to hurt her in anyway, or be anything less than a faithful husband to her, I will personally make your life a living Hell. Do you understand me boy?"

Rodolphus was speechless as Cygnus grinned at his obvious discomfort at being threatened. He simply nodded and before Cygnus could continue to threaten him, Bellatrix came down and said, "Be nice Dad."

Cygnus said, "It might be an arranged marriage, Bella, but you are still my Baby girl and I'm making sure that he treats you right."

As the two began to exit the room after Bella gave her father a peck on the cheek and a hug, Cygnus said, "You two have fun now. I'll probably be up all night, cleaning these wands."

As those last words left his mouth, Rodolphus gave him one last nervous glance before they exited the house. Cygnus knew then, that he had gotten the point across.
