Martyred warrior cast in stone

Noble and bold; defending his home

In death as in heroic life,

Though victorious paid the final price.

Silent and fierce, a tireless sentinel

Alone and unbroken he holds his vigil.

'I'll keep you safe' he vowed before

He left; this mighty warrior.

'I ask only that you raise my son

Strong and true, as I would have done.

Give him a cause, teach him not be fearful,

Make him a credit to our people.

Instil in him heart, bold and yet kind

Steady his nerve, and help him to find

Courage within, teach him how to dig deep,

To not give up hope if it's out of his reach.

Strengthen his body, and hone every sinew

Provide him the vigour he will need to continue.'

His son sees him standing in the place of his doom,

Releases a howl to a blood red full moon.

'I will fight for the planet, and all that you stood for;

I surrender my life, and like you, if need be: more.'

Martyred warrior,

cast in stone these past years

Proud of his son,

sheds three light crystal tears.

Fall on him lightly, rain and dew

He died for the Earth that fathers you.
