Naruto Uzumaki , Genin of the Hidden Leaf village sighed as he walked through the village following his mission to bring back Tsunade for the Hokage mission. Now, as he lazily walked through the market waiting to hear the results of the Chunnin exams, Naruto pondered what would happen if he made Chunnin.

{Well for one ..you'd have to get rid of that atrocious outfit. It practically shrieks 'kill me'.} Kurama, the nine tailed fox said sarcastically in his mind. However, just as Naruto was going to answer an ANBU dropped down in front of him and said " Naruto Uzumak?"

"Hai!" Naruto snapped to attention at once. " The Hokage would like to speak with you, Naruto-san. "the ANBU said monotonously. Nodding quickly, Naruto thanked the man and took off for Tsunade's office.

Once there, he knocked on the door and entered to see Shikamaru there as well. " Good. Your here. Alright! Naruto Uzumaki and Shikamaru Nara! Due to your amazing strategic abilities and ability to lead you have both been chosen to advance to Chunnin rank. " Tsunade told them as she handed both their Chunnin vests.

===================3 days later====================

Team Seven met at the bridge as usual, however there was something different about them this time. Sakura and Sasuke had arrived at the same time, to see Kakashi there as well - yet there was no sign of Naruto.

Then all of a sudden, there was a swirl of leaves and Naruto appeared next to Sakura who shrieked "YOUR ...LATE!" Naruto, rolled his eyes and ignored her as he turned to Kakashi. "Sensei. " the blond acknowledged nodding to his superior. " Naruto. Congratulations on your promotion." Kakashi smiled at the boy now dressed in black standard ninja gear with a Chunnin vest over top.

Then Kakashi turned to everyone else, and said " As you can see. Naruto is now a Chunnin, so he is your superior. If we do any missions that require a split in the team dynamic, then he will be team captain. Am I understood?"

Sulkingly, the other two nodded and said " Hai Sensei."

==================That night=====================

Naruto fell asleep instantly unaware of the red chakra slowly transforming him into something completely new.

====================Morning=====================

Naruto woke the next morning, hoping for a relaxing day. However when he tried to roll out of bed, he got caught on the bed sheets somehow. Trying to figure out what was wrong, Naruto eventually untangled himself and fell to the floor. Then standing up, he shrugged and walked into the bathroom to change- only to stop in shock at his reflection.

Then he screamed and began twisting around in an attempt to find out how his new appendages got there- completely unaware that Tsunade and her ANBU guards were standing in the doorway in shock. Until Tsunade asked " Naruto..What happened?"

" I have no idea! I just woke up like this! " the boy shrieked as they walked down the street towards Ichiraku's. "Interesting.." Kakashi said as he stepped up beside them with Genma ( who was staring at Naruto ). "It could be an influence of the Nine tails."

" But why? " was the general question, whlie Kyubbi cackled in the seal and Genma kept staring at Naruto's tail.
