Emily smiled at the child in her arms. "You're so lovely, Claire."
Claire giggled.
"You're my favorite niece, you know that?"
Leah snorted from the table. "She's your only niece."
Emily sighed. "It's the thought that counts." she moved to sit with Leah. "Remember when we were her age?"
"Yeah," said Leah, "and I'm glad her childhood will be so different."
Emily felt like Leah stabbed a dagger in her heart. "She won't have a friend though," she said softly.
"She'll have Quil." replied Leah. "That's better. She's set for life."
"But she'll never get to fall in love," said Emily softly.
"Yeah, she will." argued Leah. "Quil will let her live her life. It's just he'll be there to pick up the pieces." Leah's eyes narrowed.
Emily gulped. She looked down at Claire again. "She's going to grow up being adored."
Leah laughed coldly. "Then we'd better hope she doesn't turn into a brat."
Emily glared at Leah. She whispered to Claire, although she knew Leah heard it, "Just ignore the mean girl, Claire."
Claire turned her bright eyes on Leah, and reached for her. "Pretty!" she cooed. Emily gasped.
Leah smirked, took Claire, and left the room.
Emily sighed. Leah deserved to win. Emily stole Sam, so it was only fair that Leah stole Claire. It didn't stop her from grinding her teeth.
a/n: SO OMFG, I haven't published in forever. And I just know I'm going to get a bunch of "OMFG, U CAME ON AND DIDN'T UPDATE (MUSICAL/ LETTERS)?! DIE, WENCH! But hey, let me say my 2 cents first. Firstly, I didn't write this recently, I wrote it ages ago and found it on my computer, as I attempted to write my english play (it's amazing, just so you know ^.^) and was like, "OMFG, I'm impressed with myself, did I put this up yet?! I THINK MCNOT!" but if I did already, I apologize. Secondly, for letters, I am sooooo beyond writer's block it's not even funny. Musical, I'm just too lazy to update, despite erin nicole's nagging. Over the summer, perhaps, if I'm not busy. but yeah. I love you all, you've been soooo kind to me (minus a few haters) and I intend to keep writing (not twilight, the craze kinda turned me off) so if I decide to go on permanent hiatus, just know that I love each and everyone of you. Also, there appears to be many MANY twilight the musicals now (I searched it, and was like, "aww, I'm not original anymore..." but yeah. so happy, reading, and writing, I guess o_O TOODLES.
PS, I like writing authors notes. I think I may start a blog, I kinda like hearing myself talk :O tell me if you'd be into reading that. :D
