The room was black. A small, red spotlight spun around from the ceiling revealing a glimpse of the chaos we craved. Everyone was grinding against each other, a group of bodies harmoniously in a trance. Smoke was filling the air we breathed, and it made us yearn for touch even more. I stood on the outside watching what I could in awe. Every time my eyes started to adjust the spotlight would blind me momentarily making my eyes work harder to see my surroundings.
I was in an underground smoking club and it felt surreal. From what I could see the walls and floors were made from black marble. There was one wall of black velvet couches to the left and a hallway to the right that led to the bathrooms and the exit. It looked expensive. There was a small brunette woman on one of the couches, and I was leaned up against the wall beside the hallway to the exit. The remainder of the room was an area for everyone to dance and they were. A young woman's voice rang through the speakers "Ain't no feeling like when we collide~" and the floor trembled from the bass. I pushed myself off the wall and turned toward the hallway on my right. The hallway was dark and narrow. There was a door at the end of the hallway, a push door to the left with an illuminated word "Women" and another to the right with the lit up word "Men". I headed to the right and pushed the door in. The bathroom had a dim light fixture that made you feel like you were in a gas station bathroom. It smelt good though, like amber. I walked to the mirror and pushed my hair back with my hands. My blonde hair had a mixture of gray and brown and my blue eyes looks tired. A sigh escaped my lips.
A toilet flushed behind me making my skin jump. I could hear the handle to the bathroom stall door unlatch behind me and I could see the man exit in the mirror. He was tall, and striking. A mane of red that could only be comparable to fire or blood. He was wearing a black tank-top, tight jeans with a hole exposing his left knee and short sturdy combat boots that made a thud with each step. He was slender but I could see his arms were toned and when he reached for the soap he locked eyes with me briefly. All I could see was green.
I turned quickly embarrassed for staring so openly. I pushed the door open and heard him,
"Do I scare you?" he asked smugly. My body froze and I stopped for a moment. The door was parted and the music was seeping in the bathroom. He continued to wash his hands and then dried them off on his pants when there was a paper towel dispenser just a foot away. With squinted eyes I stared at him with suspicion. "No you didn't scare me" I blurted out before briskly walking back into the hallway away from the strange man.
"Hey!" I could hear him shouting over the music behind me. He grabbed my arm from behind. His hand was so big I could feel his fingers wrap all the way around me. I don't know why but it stirred a heat inside me. With my cheeks flushed I turned around to stare up at him. "What do you want?" I demanded but he was making me nervous and I couldn't help it when my lips started to curl up into a small smile. He stared at me for what seemed like ages before pulling me close to him,
"Want to go for a drive with me?" I could hear the smirk on his lips and even though I didn't know why, I said "...yes."
