Mechanical Soul
Chapter One
The sky was rumbling again, Croco was running away from the storm and heading back to his cave in the Bandit's Way, he found some loot at the castle in the Mushroom Kingdom, it was a tiny treasure, a relic that belonged to Peach's parents and it was his now. The sky was in tremors again; he heard on the distant another loud explosion and decided to go outside and look if the storm was approaching to him.
To his surprise, the sky was completely red; he never saw something as that before… out of nowhere a giant sword materialized into his world and crashed north, creating a loud sonic boom that made everything shake in the vicinity.
Mario was alone, he couldn't find his brother anywhere, he started to panic as Bowser's Keep was collapsing and Luigi was nowhere to be seen. He stopped listening to Peach's screaming and he was expecting the castle to crumble into oblivion but to his surprise, it didn't happen, he was thrown outside the keep into a cliff.
Bowser wasn't lucky, for being one of the most powerful beings in existence, at least on that plane of existence. Time around the castle seemed to stop, and then a strange being, covered in a black armor and wielding an axe. Bowser was speechless, he threw a fireball at him, but the knight repelled with his bare hands.
"Impossible!" Bowser screamed, the dark knight didn't mention a word, he just kept walking to the Koopa King.
Whoever was left behind after the sword landing in his keep, some goombas and koopas tried to stop the black knight but where killed on the spot. Bowser was paralyzed in fear, then even with the bulky armor the knight appeared in the blink of an eye in front of Bowser.
"We are the Axem Rangers, we serve Smithy, my name is Axem Black and I am one of many" With a single blow, he threw Bowser as far away as he could with the intention of killing him.
Mario was approaching again to the keep, he couldn't believe it, there was an army coming out from it, an army that he never saw before; he was totally surprised; but his biggest jump scare came from the sword that crashed, that thing was alive; it had a face, it had eyes and it could speak perfectly.
"Halt!"… Who goes there?... A trespasser?!" His voice was extremely deep and loud. So loud that it could be heard down to Tadpole Pond. It was insanity, it was a moment that divided the story of the Mushroom Kingdom in two, as it never experienced an invasion from another dimension. Axem Black was looking at the horizon, he was amazed by how this world was, it was completely different from where they came from, there was heat that was natural, that didn't come from the tubes of the factory or from the lava. He wanted to know more.
