Love during the war
(This sketch story drawn inspiration from Justice League episode: The flashpoint paradox.)
This story happening in a paralell reality, after princess Diana grews up and her mother, queen Hippolyta gave the throne to her daughter, Wonder Woman has became the queen of the amazons.
After this, she has looked out to the outside world, with help of her mother's magic mirror. This world is the world of mankind, which bringing about the downfall of Earth with it's self-destruct way of life, and putting at risk being of Themiskyra before long, too.
At the sight of this, queen Diana decided to subject this corrupt, decadent, man-dominated world to her rule.
The war has started, and the countries of the Earth submit to queen Diana, one after the other. Not only the women, but men to be found among so ones, who surrender, rather than fight for fallen, corrupt, dishonest regimes, but mainly not against beautiful amazons.
One of them, Sam was such young man, besides he felt unquenchable love to queen Diana herself.
Although he was never soldier, all the same report himself in first into auxiliary troops, which was needed to amazons, because they was few to control the taken 2/3 part of the Earth.
Queen Diana has checked the sincerity and loyalty of each applicant with her magic lasso, and when Sam's turn cames, certainly it came to light that what he feels towards her.
But Diana has smile derisively merely, after all why she would degrade to a despised, simple, mortal man?
No matter how, Sam became her soldier, the more so since, queen Diana thought this better than only her amazons shed their blood for her sake.
The war has continued for the remnans 1/3 part of the Earth, where forced back the most desperated leaders and his armies. And they not only defend themselves, but started successful counter-attacks against Wonder Woman's troops.
Even queen Diana's life got into trouble during a campaign, when the enemy set a trap her troops at a mountain pass. Whether who is the traitor, who put the amazon's life in danger, because inform the enemy the amazon troops movements?
Wonder Woman fought desperatedly even now, destroy the enemy war machines one after another.
Sam, as always, has tried keep up with her in the battle.
Suddenly somebody step behind the fighting Wonder Woman, and going to strike down to her with a sharp dagger. In the next moment Diana heard behind her back a shout:
"Behind you, your majesty!" And somebody threw her to the ground at her waist.
She has turn back quickly, and found Sam on herself, with the traitor's dagger in his back. She push further Sam's body carefully and threw herself on the traitor, who was nobody else as a member of her auxiliary troops.
Wonder Woman cut his head at one stroke, and it came to light that he was not entirely human, but a cyborg, which planted into her troops by the enemy, and because it was a half-robot, therefore Diana couldn't notice with her magic lasso.
See this, the amazons regain strength, and defeat the demoralized enemy.
Wonder Woman has knelt down beside the dying Sam, embrace the young man's head, and said:
"You are my best warrior, and the only man, who give his own life for me."
"Yes, your majesty..." answered Sam "Because I love you now and always... Please, after the war, be good leader of the mankind."
"I promise, my hero" said Diana in tears and kiss Sam.
Some weeks later the war ends. The amazons won, and Wonder Woman became the queen of the whole world.
Under her rule realized the peace, unity, wealth and progress, and she always ruled as promised to Sam.
