Child of the sea,

So bold and so bright;

Relentless by nature,

Clings to his life.

He faces his fate

As he slips into the light.

He couldn't resist her song

Or her marvellous sight.

As his eyes begin to dim,

He curses his plight.

The siren's call led him astray

On this cold, stormy night.

As his final breath escapes his lips,

Her voice pierces him like a knife,

And he longs to hear her singing again

Even as she claims his life.
