Aftermath

Prologue

Day: 75

Location: Hocotate

"I'm very sorry ma'am...but that is what we have discovered..." The detective said softly.

Nectarine's hands which were gripping her lavender purse went limp and she blinked dumbly at him. He had to be joking. He just had to be. This was all just a nightmare that she would wake up soon from. Nectarine was sure of it. Denial began to cloud her senses.

"I'm here to help you and your children in any shape way or form-" he continued.

"We don't need help, he's coming home soon. He probably already emailed me telling me that he had just run out of gas" She cut in, biting her lower lip.

"Ma'am-"

"Hush! He always puts us in first place, so it's only a matter of days!"

Nectarine turned to leave when the detective grabbed her wrist. She struggled against his grip; feeling like her throat was closing.

"Let me go! Olimar's on his way home and I n-need to get the house ready! I-I need t-to pick t-the children u-up! P-plus, I need to pick up some carrots and onions!"

"Mrs. Riamo-"

Her body shook harder as she desperately fought the rising tears. Unable to deny it anymore, she went into a fit of sobs. Any hope that might have remained after the search that her husband was still alive had been stamped out. It had been too long.

He was dead and the she couldn't believe it. What made her sob harder was the fact that she had convinced him leave. He had wanted to stay home but she had convinced him to go elsewhere. Suddenly all their past arguments bubbled to the surface of her memories worsening her pain like salt on a fresh wound.

"I-if only I-I hadn't m-made him g-go" she cried, sobbing heavily.

The detective released his grip on her wrist and allowed the woman to bury her face in his shoulder.

How would life be like now? How would she tell the children? What would happen to them now?

This is a story that like many of my others, is in the works and is coming along rather nicely so far. This takes place if the bad ending of Pikmin took place and the impact it would have on Olimar's family. Furthermore, NTOOH is currently being revamped and hopefully-hopefully be back on track soon. Hope you enjoyed reading, thank you! ^_^
