Future Destiny

Prologue

"Do you believe in destiny, Seto Kaiba?" "Does it matter?" "There are some who would say it is not your choice to be her for you have already been destined to come." "I make my own destiny and you're wasting my time. Good bye."

6,000 years ago a game was played of great and terrible power. The Egyptian pharaoh knew that if the world was to be spared, he would have to lock the games away. This great power was locked inside seven millennium items. Locked away inside an eye, a necklace, a ring, a rod, a scale, a key, and a puzzle. It was inside this puzzle that the pharaoh's very soul was entrapped. 5,000 years later, a boy named Yugi found and solved this puzzle, unlocking its secrets and releasing the Shadow Games. After fulfilling his destiny by banishing evil from the world and saving it from complete destruction with the help of the ancient pharaoh, he decided to grow old in peace with his friends. After he died, the puzzle was smashed and hidden in four separate locations across the earth. In doing this it was hoped that the Shadow Games would never be played again. That's what they hoped anyway. 1,000 years later, a new boy started a quest to fulfill his own destiny. The story had been passed down through his family for ten generations, the story of Yugi, his ancestor's archrival. About what he did. Unlike the rest of his family, who hated Yugi for what he had done, this young boy strived to be just like him. He wanted to build his Duel Monsters deck like Yugi's, but his family forced him to duel with the deck his family had used for generations. While the shadow games had been wiped off the face of the earth, the game of Duel Monsters had been kept "alive", in a sense, by the amazing technology his ancestor had started and each Kaiba since had improved on. By the year 3,000, the game of Duel Monsters was so realistic, that no person under the age of sixteen was allowed to even own a deck. On young Seto's sixteenth birthday, his whole life would be turned upside down.
