Disclaimer: You know those Harry What's-his-name books? Yeah, well they're not mine.
A/N: Written for the forgotten family ties competition. I got Percy and Fred and came up with this idea. I hope you like it.
All his life he had been told the same things. How much he was like his uncle Fred. How much he should be like his uncle Fred. How much he would be like his uncle Fred.
When he was younger that was his biggest dream. To live up to the photo on the mantle piece. To live up to the hopes and dreams of all his relatives. Except for one.
That was why Percy was his favourite uncle. Not only was he alive which in his eyes helped a lot. He was the complete opposite of the person who he had always aimed to be.
Fred, or so he was told, had been cool and funny and popular. A quidditch star. A master of pranks. Smooth with the ladies.
Percy, however, had been a prefect and on first name terms with some of the teachers and even at one point part of the chess club before deciding that it was affecting his grades. He was the only child of Molly and Arthur Weasley who was never on the quidditch team. He had often been the butt of pranks. And if the rumours held true had proposed to Aunt Audrey in a bank.
Percy was the odd one out, but despite the pranks and the jokes and the bickering, his entire family (especially his Mother) adored him.
When him and James were pulling pranks and playing quidditch and getting detention sometimes he stopped and wondered if it was him doing these things or his parents and grandparents and uncles and aunts telling him to.
Somehow despite their opposites in personalities his uncle Percy was the one to teach him the most about living in the shadow of his uncle Fred and that was why he would always, even if he never told anyone, be his favourite uncle.
Being Fredrick Gideon Weasley the second is Ok as long as you remember to be cool and funny and popular, a quidditch star, a master of pranks, smooth with the ladies in your own right.
