Percy Jackson had the most intriguing eyes she had ever seen.
To Annabeth Chase, an utter know-it-all, you would assume she had other things to daydream about—the wonderful files on Daedalus' laptop, the betrayal of Luke Castellan, the endless summer days at Camp Half-Blood, her paradise.
But each time her mind came across these subjects, her mind shifted. It was rather odd—almost like the powerful sea green eyes probed her prior thoughts out of the way. The way the eyes twinkled with laughter made her heart skip beats. The sparkling oceanic eyes followed and haunted her everywhere— to sword practice, to dinner, even to her sleep. And the eyes comforted her. When she looked into them, she saw the sea… the bright blue sea.
And gosh—gosh, when Percy came around and walked with her to breakfast, she would act like a complete and total idiot, the way she could giggle uncontrollably around him. The way she would call him Seaweed Brain and he would lash out with a playful, 'Wise Girl' remark. Sometimes, she could even sense the way he would get lost in her eyes, as well—her stormy grey eyes.
Sure, their personalities were totally different at times—but opposites attracted, didn't they? Annabeth was certainly in enough science classes to know about that. Magnets… she supposed they were both like magnets, in a way. Moody, unpredictable, friendly magnets.
Their eyes were magnetic, too, she supposed. They were such a contrast, really. A bubbly, airy, full of depth green to a cloudy grey. One glance and it would take ages for either one of them to look away. Their eyes were attracted.
And maybe, she reasoned, they were slightly attracted, too.
