This is the first time I've ever published anything I've written. And I know it's not overly exciting or long, but I wrote it mostly for myself, and then thought I would share it. So... enjoy I guess :)
Disclaimer: I do not own The Raven Boys or any of it's characters. Those fabulous creations belong to Maggie Stiefvater.
Blue was confused, and not only by the math homework that lay forgotten and incomplete at her side as she leaned against the beech tree in the garden of 300 Fox Way. The confusion was deep rooted and had been steadily growing day by day since the events at Cabeswater.
Things had changed.
Adam was... different. There was no other word to describe it. Blue knew that they had all been affected by what had gone on. How could they not? But with Adam it was something more. His behaviour had changed in such a way that Blue couldn't help but wonder that if not his life, what exactly had Adam sacrificed that night?
Then there was Ronan, and the revelation that "he took Chainsaw out of his dreams." They were still trying to figure out quite what that meant, and how on earth it was possible. Blue had experienced some strange things before but this... this was new.
And then there was Gansey.
Blue sighed and leaned her head against the tree, gazing into the expanse of leaves above.
Gansey - His name danced through her mind for the billionth time that day. The zillionth time that week. Ever since the second vision the hollowed tree had shown her in Cabeswater, her mind could barely keep away from thoughts of him for more than ten minutes. Blue was well aware that she was headed into very dangerous territory, but was also certain that part of her very much liked it.
And hence the confusion. What could she do? Getting closer to Gansey would be a very bad idea. Blue knew that if nothing else, she was already in deep enough that it would break her heart if she were the one responsible for Gansey's death. She would never forgive herself. But with the ley lines woken, the quest to find Glendower was more frantic than ever, and she couldn't just ignore him. Staying away from him just wasn't an option. Not anymore.
