"What the hell is that?" Leonard asked with a frown when something small and shiny to his left caught his attention. Turning around, he felt his brows damn near clear his hairline as he took in the obviously expensive machine that now took up a good corner portion of the CMO office.
His confusion hit an all time high when he spotted the four by four mini-refrigerator gleaming as the Quarters light hit it at an angle.
Walking over to it, he gazed down at the touch screen displayed before dropping his hand on the surface. Computer generated, it scanned the palm of his hand.
"Welcome, Leonard McCoy." It spoke, startling the doctor. "What native alcoholic beverage would you like to choose from today?"
"Do you like it?" She teased, leaning her frame against the doorway. "I had it personally designed and customized to fit your preference. Voice activated, temperature control and great preservation for keeping the taste and quality of all your favorite drinks."
"Like it?" He mumbled as he ran his greedy eyes over the large displayed of alcoholic beverages.
"It's still a prototype so there might be a few kinks here and there that I haven't managed to fix last night. But it'd do for now." She moved besides him, running her hand through her hair as she let out a tiring sigh. "I know how stressful your job could, so sit back and relax, and drink all your troubles away. It has just about all your favorites. Kentucky Bourbon to Tennessee Whiskey, and even Mint Julep."
"I'm speechless." He found himself admitting.
"Well, that's a first."
"Shut up."
She laughed, despite her efforts to hold it in.
Stopping when McCoy gave her a dirty look, her eyes lit up as the corners of her mouth tuned, the dimples in her cheeks appeared as her whole face showed the amusement of the moment. "Sorry."
"Thank you." Was his eventual replied.
"I never thought there would come a day when you would actually say that to me." She said, tilting her head back to the side so that she could look up at him as she continued. "But I can't blame you. I'm pretty damn awesome."
"Now…" He started off, crossing his arms against his chest before turning to face her. "What's the catch?"
"Catch?"
"Yes, the catch."
"There's no catch, Leonard." She held her ground as she stared back at him. "I like you. Isn't that reason enough for me to do something nice for you?"
"No."
"Well if that's not reason enough, I can take the gift back if-"
Groaning in frustration, he leaped forward and took her mouth in a hungry kiss, silencing her completely.
The way his lips connected with her was almost magical. It was right, and somehow, among all the dizziness and the clinging to him like a lifeline, something inside her changed, never to be reversed. This new feeling could be dwell upon later, because, for now, she was content to feel his breath come and go with hers.
"Lay one finger on it and they'll never find your body." He swore against her lips, and even though he sighed softly in pleasure, she knew he meant every word.
