A/N: Alright, so I was listening to Pandora while I was writing my next chapter for 'The Voice' when all of a sudden, Old School Britney comes on. I listened to the 'Dear Diary' song, and all of the sudden had an urge to write a one-shot about it. So...here ya go. Lemme know what you think!

I had always known who they were; everyone knew them. They were notoriously famous throughout the school. They kept to themselves though, none of them ventured far outside their own circle of friends. No one really knew them though. I had never wanted to know them, but I realized one day; I wanted to know him.
"Dear Merlin," I breathed out. "That boy got fit." I turned toward Diary with my eyes wide. She rolled her eyes at me. Yes, her name is actually Diary; apparently her mum kept a diary throughout her entire pregnancy.
"Don't think about it Lor," said girl shook her head in exasperation.
"Lor," Diary nearly shouted in my ear two days later. "Focus," she snapped her fingers.
"Sorry." I said. "I just," I paused, "I cannot get him out of my head." I shook my head as if to emphasize my point. "I don't even know him; it's frightening really." Diary patted my back comfortingly.
"I hate potions." I muttered to Diary as I took a seat beside her at the table. It was dinner, and we were one of the first people there. Helping myself to some grub, I glanced up to notice the Marauders strutting through the hall. Well, James and Sirius strutted. Peter kind of hobbled. Remus walked with a careful elegance few can master. As they passed Diary and I, Remus caught my eye. He gave me a small smile. My eyes widened.
It wasn't till after he had passed that I realized I had been in too much shock to smile at him. Damn, I cursed myself.
"Did you see that?" I asked frantically to Diary. "He smiled at me! Should I tell him I think I fancy him? What should I do? What should I say?" She just smiled. Some best mate she is.
It was late; much too late. I had ended up spending too much time studying, and had been rudely shoo'd out by the 'She-Devil' herself. I let my feet carry me, having taken the route so many times that I didn't need to concentrate on it. Letting my mind wander, I sighed when it turned toward the topic it had strayed too much too often for my liking.
It wasn't long before I collided into a strong body, effectively falling on my arse.
"Sorry," I mumbled from the floor, not looking up yet. "I should have paid more attention."
"No, I'm sorry Lorianne." A deep voice said as a hand appeared in front of my face. I gulped as I grabbed his hand. I knew that voice, I had heard it plenty of times over the past month; sometimes in person, sometimes in my imagination, but none ever directed at me. He pulled me up and dropped my hand. It felt all tingly.
"S'okay." I looked into his honey-colored eyes.
"Best be off," he said quietly. He smiled at me, and I felt my heart take off in my chest. I smiled back as I felt him brush by me. I stood in the same place for at least two minutes before I did a little dance, and took off toward the common room. I had two thoughts on my mind: I have to tell Diary, and when do I get to see Remus Lupin again?
