Bluntly

He sat across from her his head on the table, his food untouched. She had worked up the courage to join him because he looked miserable. She hated when he looked down like this. All she wanted was to comfort him the best way she could.

"Naruto, please tell me what's wrong." She reached across the table and placed her hand on top of his. She knew she was being a little forward, but sometimes a touch was more comfort than any words could be.

He raised his head and looked into her lavender eyes filled with confusion and concern.

"Sakura." He said it so full of despair, like he was losing hope.

It was a name. A name that tore a knife through her soul. Always Sakura.

Always with his single minded devotion to her. Why her? Why would he continuously give his devotion to a woman who would never return his affections? A woman who was so obviously in love with another man? Why?

Hinata realized it then. She was doing the exact same thing. She was continuously giving her heart to him and he would never return her affections. Not as long as he remained oblivious to her. If only he would see her, see who she truly was then maybe--

Hinata suddenly did something she rarely did which was she made a snap decision.

She reached across the table and smacked Naruto across the face. He blinked surprised and raised his hand to his cheek. Hinata was not one who was prone to violence but honestly at this point it was probably the only thing that would get through to him.

"Hinata?" The normally shy and quiet kunoichi had fire in her eyes and coursing through her veins.

"She doesn't want you Naruto. She loves Sasuke. She will always love Sasuke. It doesn't matter how long you try or how hard. Her heart will not be moved. It's time you move on and find a woman who loves you. A woman who wants you. A woman who's heart will follow you if you leave. A woman who will put you first. A woman who desires you above all others." Hinata paused. "Actually you don't have to look far because I'm sitting right here."

"You love me?" Naruto asked astounded.

"I always have but you've been too blind to see it. I'm tired of waiting for you Naruto. You need to make a decision. Let it go or move on. Regardless though you need to pull your skirt down and man-up."

The two stared at each other across the table as the words Hinata had uttered sank into both their brains. Realization struck Hinata. She had just voiced her innermost thoughts aloud to the man she was in love with! She told him that she loved him!

Hinata pushed her chair back and stood up abruptly. The chair toppled backwards drawing the attention of several people in the restaurant. A blush stained her cheeks as she decided to make a hasty exit.

She didn't make it that far though. She had just stepped outside the restaurant when strong arms grabbed her and turned her around.

Cerulean, eyes stared at her intensely. "I've made a decision Hinata." Hinata shivered a little from the close contact. She could actually feel his breath of her face. "I've decided to move on."

Hinata's lips parted in surprise. Had she heard him correctly? Had he decided to move on? He continued to watch her as if waiting for her to say something but no words came from her lips. Her face went pale. Her mouth opened and closed in a fish-like manner. To the passerbys that watched the scene with unconcealed fascination what happened next was no surprise. Hinata Hyuuga's eyes rolled to the back of her head and she fainted dead way.

But before her world went completely dark she thought one word about the man who held her securely in his arms.

Mine.

A chuckle escaped the lips of the blond shinobi and he lifted the woman into his arms and began to carry her home.
