"MALFOY!" I screeched. He stormed over to me.
"GRANGER!" He shouted.
"WHAT DID YOU DO?!" We both shouted. His eyes were as stormy as ever.
"Stupid little Mudblood Tramp!"
"Twitchy Arrogant Ferret!"
"ENOUGH!" McGonagall shouted. I stopped. "Both of you detention after class today. I flushed red from anger and embarrassment. Malfoy smirked, flipping his hair out of his eyes. I glared at him and sat down again. He walked back to his seat. My leopard I had been changing was now stone. Not ice. Stone. Failure. Malfoy's was in the same manner, yet he was smirking at me. We hadn't learned ice to stone yet. More importantly, I hadn't learned it yet. 'Why is he still staring at me?' I mentally asked myself. I nudged Harry.
"Huh?" He asked quietly.
"He's doing it again." I said. Harry looked at me.
"Watch out for him. He's been watching you all year."
"What do I do? I have detention with him."
"Keep your wand handy." He said. He turned and glared at Malfoy. Malfoy didn't falter, instead staring at me. The bell rang. Harry wished me luck. McGonagall walked over to me. Malfoy walked over to my side. I forced myself not to step away and show weakness.
"You two will be cleaning the floor. No magic. Wands please." My stomach dropped out.
"Can't we-"
"No." She said. I handed my only defense over. She gave both of us a pale of water, soap, and rags. She shut the door, my only hope of escape, with a snap. I walked to the opposite side of the room and started to clean. 'I'm on my hands and knees, without my wand, in a closed room, with Malfoy in the room. Why don't I save him the trouble and Avada myself?!'
"So Granger… Where are your body guards?" He asked.
"I don't need
body guards." I said. I furiously began rubbed my sponge on the
floor to avoid blowing up.
"Then why, whenever I'm around you,
do you go running to Potter?" He asked. I glared at the ground. I
jumped when I saw how close he was. He kneeled down next to me. "You
can't deny that, can you?" He asked. I sat up facing him.
"At
least I don't stare at someone all day for weeks." I retaliated.
He laughed.
"Figured it out yet then, Granger?" He asked. I raised an eyebrow. 'I have no clue, not that I'd ever admit it.' "Want a hint?" He asked. I tensed. 'He's going to kill me here?' He leaned forward, and I shut my eyes fearing what might happen. I suddenly felt his lips on mine. I jumped slightly and drew back. He stared mischievously at me.
"You kissed me." I said. My lips tickled with an electric feeling and I leaned forward and kissed him. We kissed for just a moment, but I felt like I had been there an hour. We parted.
"You kissed me." He said. I grinned and turned back to cleaning the floor.
