Dove's Prophecy
Condemned by the truth,
strayed from the path set forth,
out of bounds, out of reach,
beyond hope,
freedom's existence was long ago spurned.
Douse the fire within the mind and you've left only hardness and rabble -
never mind the ashes,
never mind the scent -
it never mattered anyways.
Chaos - the arctic ardent
was all we could ever know for certain
and to place the lies behind the curtain
of the mind
we had to lie
between reality and its truth
where all that matters is perspective
and lying, helpless, introspective
brought no insight or help
for it itself would flee
and shudder, yelp
that never wasn't ever
going to be.
Fact irrelevant, thought discordanent,
lapping and bathing in minddawn,
dew of emotion and frivolous notion
to think there was any escape...
The light was just a small candle's flame.
Shatter the bounds and render inept
the central concept
of life, hope, and love -
the death of all, the promise of price
and disobedience crushed.
Bloodfire lives where pacifists died
and phoenixes drowned in their ashes
No longer a sun, no longer a sky -
only suffocation, spent...
No final hope, memories choked.
Current belongs only to water
and future never mine.
Promise protection -
then fuel demise!
Fury and miser
for violet eyes.
Cling to hope - go up in smoke.
Gaze into the past,
relinquish all at last -
To look into the mirror's to gaze into hell
and this final lullaby my freewill's farewell.
