As Erica's alarm sounded on the bedside table Callie groaned into the kiss, leaning over to swat it silent she was now lying directly on top of the blonde beauty. Propping herself up on her elbows she gazed into the blue pools of eyes that had been so instrumental in the powerful attraction that had now, ultimately, led her here.
"Why would you set an alarm on you day off, Erica?"
"I always do" she replied pulling Callie over to her side and entwining their bare legs, using the leverage to close the small distance between their bodies.
"I need to have a life outside the hospital, and if I didn't set that alarm and make myself get out of bed I'd sleep through every day off I ever have. And that's tragic"
"That's what I do with every day off I ever have." Callie laughed. "Why change the habit of a lifetime?" she added, tightening her grip on Erica's body, lightly scratching her nails down the silky skin of her long back.
Erica exhaled deeply, dipping her forehead to gently push against Callie's bare shoulder. "Well, admittedly, today it'll be harder, but we have to do something with the day, Cal".
"This is something" replied Callie, brushing stray blonde curls away to place a simple and tender kiss on Erica's forehead.
Erica had resolved to make this relationship about more than just sex because she knew that for Callie that was a defence mechanism, and she wasn't going to let it happen this time, for them. Her resolve was weak however, when it came to leaving a bed in which the object of her affection was now tracing her fingers, tantalizingly, up and down her thigh. Her breathing became laboured and she could feel a flush rising from her chest toward her face. She knew that the point of no return was very close and so with colossal effort she detangled their limbs, only able to differentiate between them because of the contrasting caramel and vanilla tones of their skin.
Callie protested as she rose to sit on the edge of the bed, pulling at Erica's wrist trying to entice her back to finish what had just started.
"Come on" Erica raised pulling on a robe and throwing Callie an oversized T-shirt from her wardrobe. "I cook".
Exasperated, Callie threw her head back on the pillow. She watched the curvaceous figure of Erica Hahn leave the room and was able to truly exhale for the first time in a long, long while.
