Colorful flowers were hung around the cliff valley were the wolf territory lay, orange and blue hues rested on the horizon, bringing forth all the jungle and its inhabitants that spring is here. And not just any spring day, Easter. It used to be a holiday for the man-village, but somehow it brought its way to the wolf pack, and all the wolves to celebrate. A few young wolf pups were nosing hued flowers onto the dens of the twisted trees and their own den cleft as they finished up their decorating. The wolves were doing their own Easter preparation, flooding the send with colorful hues of flowers while Alexa laid on the high-rock beside the cliff, his eyes narrowed and his gray fur casting shadows against the low dawnlight.

Raksha watched proudly at her pups, her chestnut-gaze warm and prideful, and her fur colored cream in the early morning light. Gray stuck the last flower beside the den.

Akela furrowed his eyes as he stood down gazing across his pack warmly. "Well, you all had certainly did a nice job", he praised, leaping down from his rock to beside his pack. He halted when he came to Raksha and her pups, tumbling about with each other playfully. "Pups," Raksha mumbles softly. The young wolf pups gazed up at their leader, they bowed their heads down with embarrassment, "Sorry, Akela," they murmured softly.

"None of that matters now, you all decorated beautifully". The pups lifted their heads up. He eyed the cubs and gave them a small smile and turned away shuffling his way up to the rock and enjoying the flowers from his average view.

Raksha glances at the pups and sighed. "No need pups, today is a special day." Her fur fluttered in the wind. "Go inside now," she glanced at them kindly. "The wolves will hide the eggs while you wait". "Aww, do I really?" whined Gray.

Yes, chuckled Raksha with amusement, "now off with Laina". She nosed the pups into the den.

Laina's green gaze gleamed in the darkness. He and her were like mates. They've been secretly mates for two weeks. And planned to be that way forever, he kept that hidden from his siblings and his mother and the pack, the only secret he'd never tell. "Laina!" Exclaimed Gray excitedly, his dark brown gaze shone, against the shadows outskirted from the direction of the entrance where the sun shone from. The young black female wolf's green gaze gleamed in the shadows. "Did you miss me?" She simpered, as Gray nuzzled her muzzle with glee. "I'm glad to see you again".

The wolf pups glanced at him with puzzlement, "you act like you haven't seen her for moons!" remarked one of the little pups. They all snickered to the pups comment, as Laina and Gray stared at their faces pink in embarrassment. "Well she's my bestest friend!" protested Gray, he grinned at Laina, his tail wagging, his brown gaze gleamed expressively.

"Aww," she snickered, giving Gray a lap on the ear. "God, your so cute," she cooed. Gray blushed. Thank you, he stammered. He glanced at the other pups who were laying down giving them weird glances, he gulped.

"Egg hunts ready!" Exclaimed one of the wolves outside the den and at once the wolf pups raced up one by one, Gray glanced back at Laina who was padding out of the den to sit down beside Raksha. Gray stared at her as he ran out, her gaze upon his, he took the courage to race and caught eggs one by one in his muzzle and returning them to Raksha and Laina, Raksha gazed him flabbergasted. His sisters and brothers glared at him, as his mother smiled widely at him, "Great job, Gray!"

Laina's eyes gleamed on Gray's as afternoon approached, the blue sky was wide and open, and the sun was high in the sky, as wolves were busy hunting and searching for zebra and all other sorts of large game and prey. Gray sat alone on his side comfortably, sniffing the breeze, his silver-gray fur shining in the sunlight.

"Hello, cutie" a female voice snickered in his ear, he glanced over to see Laina peering at him with playful emerald-green eyes. "Hi" he blushed as she laid beside him. "How's being the egg-master?" She teased. Gray shifted to glance at her, he grinned, his brown gaze soft. "Laina, your so sweet, and playful, and.. his voice echoed, as his gaze looked dazy.

"Laina purred as she bent down to lapp gently at his muzzle as Gray grinned, his brown eyes gleamed infatuatedly.

" I love you too". She purred gently in his ear.

The black adolescent female wolf sighed with happiness, she wanted to bend down and nuzzle him, but she was afraid they would see. She knew it was against the law of the jungle but.. she didn't care.

She loved him.

"They're back!"

She jolted up alongside Gray who jumped in surprise too, as they saw wolves carrying plump zebras, squirrels, and voles in their jaws. The two young wolves stood up following them as they enclosed a circle of all the wolves in the pack. Akela stood proudly, his brown gaze gleamed with admiration. "Wolves, it is time to celebrate for this Easter feast which is bestowed today, so.. Happy Easter!"

"Happy Easter!" All the wolves exclaimed, they all dug in, as they ate their meals, they chatted alongside one another in the afternoon sunlight, enjoying the fresh jungle air and cold rock against their bodies, as a celebration of one day, and a rare one.

Zebra carcass laid in the center, with piles of small voles and squirrels lay, as well as small prey carcasses and zebra flesh torn out by the wolves rested beside the wolves, as they chatted and ate conveniently.

Laina day next to Gray as they both munched on a zebra leg carcass. "You know, it's going to rain tonight, maybe I could sleep in your den? Keep you warm?" She said with her mouthful.

Grey gulped the morsel of zebra down. "Raksha may not like that idea" he whispered. "Oh, I'll convince her" she smirked, sinking her teeth softly into the zebras flesh, spitting out the fur from it.

The moon rose high in the pitch-black sky, moonlight shone on the cliff, crickets chirped loudly, Gray slept curled up in a ball away from his mother and siblings, his silver-gray pelt glowed in the moonlight.

Soft pawsteps padded on the rock, a wolf's head peeked her way inside. "Gray". Whispered the black female wolf. Gray awoke to see the female wolf and his tail wagged happily. "Hello" she whispered smiling. "I'm cold". She curled up beside him. " I love you", the young wolf pup whispered nuzzled into her chest and curled up into her, snuggling up his body into hers. He closed his droopy eyes, their bodies covered by the shadows of the den. Laina lapped his ears affectionately, she purred "oh god, you are cute," she barely whispered. Her green gaze glittered in the darkness.

She shut her eyes and let her drowsiness drift her off into sleep.

"Happy Easter, Gray."
