He felt it all coming down. He couldn't take care of everything, he couldn't fix it. This was beyond fixing.
Because there Sweets, lovable kid psychologist Sweets, bleeding out on the cold ground. And he certainly didn't need Bones' help to know how bad it was. He could see it all for himself, and he couldn't fix it. And then Sweets stopped talking. Sweets, who never would shut up when you really wanted him to, stopped talking. He didn't want him to. It wasn't until Bones said it that he really realized what happened. He couldn't deny it, because Bones is always right.
"He's gone, Booth."
And he wished he could take it all back.
He wished he go back and not slam that door on Sweets, and tell him of course he liked him too. Tell Sweets of course he's smart. He wished he could go back to any of their therapy sessions, and let Sweets know he was really listening to what he said. He wished he could go back and not say those insults he never gave a second thought about.
He wished he could go back to just the other day and tell Sweets something other than just 'sure'. He wished he could tell Sweets that yeah, he'd definitely do the same for him. Even if he didn't really know it then, he did when he saw Sweets laying there without breath. And in all his life, Booth had never imagined he would have this many regrets about one person.
And dear God, he regretted it.
Okay, so not much. Most of the reason I wrote this is because I really needed to say this to someone. First off, I know why they did it. John Francis Daley is busy being a writer and a director and whatever, and that's cool. But first off, why did they have to kill Sweets? I mean, Daisy was pregnant, couldn't they just like...go on a vacation around the world before the baby comes or something?
Next, did they need to beat him to death? I mean, I've never been beaten to death, but I'm just assuming it's painful. A wild guess, you could call it. Put a bullet in his brain or something, something quick and painless! Sweets as a character deserved to die quickly and painlessly, if he couldn't make it to the end of the show.
And finally, who in the hell thought, 'yes, let's make Daisy pregnant by Sweets, and then kill him thirty minutes later'. WHAT AN IDIOT! How in the hell is that a good plan? If you have to kill him off, fine. Do it. But did you really have to bring a little Sweets baby into it? And all that about Sweets being a good dad? *Heart shattering*
I suppose it's good writing that makes me this emotional, and maybe I'm the only one, but right now the saddest Bones death just went from dear Vincent Nigel Murray to poor Lance Sweets. Review if you agree.
