Jade sighed and crossed her legs as she sat on the floor, running a hand through her black hair, blue highlights today. She was at Tori's house, along with Andre, Beck, Robbie, Trina and Cat. They were supposed to do some stupid video for The Slap together, since Lane had asked them to do one, and after Robbie had spun with his little spinning app, Cat got to chose the question again. Jade vaguely wondered if Robbie rigged it on purpose to choose Cat.

"Ooh, I know, I know!" squealed the little girl excitedly, suddenly, jumping up and down so much that Jade scowled at her, snapping at her to stop it. "We have to say who we love!" she said with a smile. "Like that play I wrote a while back about a giraffe learning to love!" she giggled and then sat down triumphantly, clapping her hands and blinking her eyes a few times, as though she were returning back to reality after escaping this world momentarily.

Jade shook her head, she didn't love anyone. That's what she told herself everyday, to stop the pain inside every time she saw him get close to another girl. No, she knew perfectly well who she loved, but she didn't want to love him. Though she couldn't help it.

"I'll start," announced Tori, turning on the camera so that they were all sitting on the sofa, gathered around it. Tori explained the purpose of the video, what they were going to do and how Cat suggested the question. Tori went first and said that she loved her parents, but Jade wasn't paying attention, she was picking at the skin of her thumb with her black nail, expecting the worse. Cat went by, saying she loved bibble and Robbie started saying he liked a girl but then finished by saying he loved watermelon, which didn't even make sense since both those things were food and not actual people. Andre said that he loved Tori, before hastily adding as a friend and then it was Beck's turn.

She dreaded it, she knew who he was going to say. The latina that was sitting next to Cat, that was who he'd say, she was sure of it. So sure, she nearly didn't catch her name escaping his lips.

"What?" she hissed, she didn't mean to hiss, but it just came naturally, like Cat's normal tone was high pitched.

"I love you," he whispered and then his eyes swivelled down and Jade blushed a bit, but her heart swelled. This was the guy who caused her so much pain, but still came back, said he loved her. Jade shook her head before Beck took her hand in his, squeezing it softly and that was all it took for Jade to remember all the good times they had together, all the kisses and touches and promises to stay together, promises that got broken but always mended and healed after some time.

"I love you too," she said quietly and then Beck leaned forward and his lips pressed against hers suddenly, but it was so tender, their lips brushing softly before his arm wrapped around her waist and pulled her closer and by the way Cat giggled, Jade realised the reason why the strange little red head chose this subject.
