Tony and Pepper were hanging out in the armory after school when Pepper sighed solemnly. Rhodey had a history club meeting after school so he told the two they could go on to the armory without him.
"Something bugging you?" Tony asked as he concentrated on the computer screen.
"Nothing you'd care about..." Pepper responded sadly.
"No, really, tell me." Tony insisted.
"You really want to know?" Pepper asked, raising an eyebrow inquisitively.
"Mhm." Tony mumbled as he turned from the large virtual computer screen to face her.
Pepper sighed deeply. She didn't want to have to say it, but she knew that when she took one look into his eyes nothing was kept a secret. It was just a wonder she'd kept her feelings secret from him for this long.
"Fine. It's just that...now that your dad is back every thing's going to go back to the way they used to be before your plane crashed and you're not going to be around anymore..." Pepper explained.
"Why wouldn't I be around?" Tony asked curiously.
"Because once you get Stark International back you'll quit school and go back to being at Stark International 24/7 and you're only going to want to invent and be with your dad. Not to mention you'll probably move back to your old house with your dad and it'll mess just everything up. You won't have any time for us anymore..." She explained further. Tony sighed.
"Pep, that's silly. I started school two years ago and I intend to finish. I'm not just going to quit like that because dad's back. And I'll always have time for you. There's nothing and no one more important to me than you." Tony explained. He blushed once he realized what he'd just said. "And, uh, and Rhodey. But I'd never just forget about you. Pep, I promise, I won't let anything change between us. Just because my dad is back doesn't mean it has to come between what we have. I promise, okay?"
Pepper smiled at her friend's explanation and threw her arms around his neck in a tight hug.
"Thank you, Tony!" She exclaimed. Tony smiled and hugged her back. "That makes me feel a lot better!"
"Yeah, well believe it or not, my life would kinda suck without you." Tony said quietly as Pepper dropped her arms to her side. She smiled widely at Tony's comment as tony turned back to his work.
Wow, this was really short. But it was cute, so that's okay :3 it wasn't really meant to be some big long thing anyways…then again, my chapters/oneshots never really are very long anyways…well, review!
