A/N: Ok so I'm doing xlightfromabovesx 50Shuffle Challenge in a vain attempt to get over my writers block. Very very very sorry to those of you who are waiting on UMS or DOM. Like I said, hopefully this will break down the block I have had for a few months now, the one that has been killing me inside (:
This is 1/50 and the song is 'Lithium' by Evanescence.
Before her there was only pain, only sorrow, only degrading memories of his psychotic past.
Images of death and destruction tormented his mind, swirling around in a mist of monochrome, accompanied by a myriad of screams and the cries of names that meant nothing to him.
But when he saw her...
She was like a silencer, a wave of beauty that fell like a star and hushed all the torment around him. She was the only drug he would ever need and she was the only drug he had ever wanted to take.
He knew he was different around her. He knew people saw how she afflicted him so but he didn't care because he couldn't get through the day without a fix.
His craving for her, her face, her smile, her touch, overruled his conscious mind and he became a slave to her willpower.
Not that he minded.
He would do anything, be anyone, to be close to her, to feel her presence and be rewarded with her calming ethereal love.
But fairytales never last long and Draco's happy ending crumbled before his very eyes. He was doomed to heartbreak from the very beginning.
Quick as she had appeared in his life, she was gone again, leaving him behind with a piece of his soul missing, and nothing to look to but his solitary austere life to come.
Without her he was empty.
Manic.
Playing on his own weaknesses and scarring his flesh to remind himself he was alive, was capable of feeling without her.
But he failed to retain his humanity. Her toxic love had kept him breathing but now...
He never should have overdosed on her beautiful forbidden drug.
