United in death,
We stand…we fall;
We give up, give in, give all.
Breathe your final breath,
United in a hero's death.
And as you pass to your conclusion,
The final sight you see:
Adrenalin in the human face,
A cheap characteristic of a dying race.
Your life is a short burst of passion in the infinite sea of time,
You feel then…
Nothing.
Numbed and diminishing you watch
All around your valiant companions meet the same fait.
As your eyes begin to close,
You long for peace that you await.
The world fades around you,
Succumbing to a blur;
A haze.
Then your eyes are finally closed…
You know your life was just a lengthy phase.
We are only human,
Blink and we are gone.

This poem was inspired by the lord of the rings: the two towers, when Haldir is dying and looking around at all the dead men. I thought about the alliance between the men and elves and how they were united in death, hence the title.
Pleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeease review!
There are more poems to come of all sorts; I mostly write about death and serious topics inspired by various things e.g. lotr.
