Pun Intended

"C'mon, M'lady. Just one?" Chat Noir knew his lady was clever, but could she really have no appreciation for this delicate art if she hadn't even tried it?

"No, Chat. I'm not a punny person like you. I guess you just enjoy puns more than I do. Simple as that," Ladybug, with her arms crossed replied matter-of-factly. Then she heard it. Suppressed, but it was damn well there.

Chat was snickering.

She thought for a moment what could've possibly worked him up, until she realized her fatal error, and her eyes widened.

"Th-that doesn't count! I-it wasn't on purpose! Chat! Chat Noir!" Ladybug's face reddened to a hue similar to her suit, and the other continued to lose composure.

"Bahahahahaha! My lady," Chat coughed, wiping a tear from his eye, "...I aPAWlogize, but I can't let you FURget this one!"

A deadpan scowl rolled across Ladybug's face. She had walked right into that one. She may love him to death, and him her, but right now she wanted to strangle him. Or her hair, for she felt she would go insane if she heard another cat pun from her lover's lips.

As her partner came down from his humorous high, Ladybug sighed in defeat. Then she had an idea that might stop the cat's cruel comedy in its tracks.

"Chat~"

The black-leathered super hero froze, his attention caught by her playful tone. She had him intrigued. She approached him with a gait that vaguely resembled an ally cat delicately perched on a fence, carefully and without hesitation.

"Yes, my l-?"

Her lips closed over his, holding him there by the bell of his collar, for a mere few seconds. Long enough to tease him, but too quick to let him sink into it. She pulled away by just a breath, dinged the bell at the base of his neck, and spoke in a tone that left him in a trance.

"If you can go the rest of tonight's patrol without letting a single cat pun slip past my ears, Adrien may get a special glimpse of Marinette tonight."

The cat's real ears reddened beneath the blonde layers that hid them. The costume's perked straight up and Ladybug swore she saw the raised end of his belt-tail twitching. She giggled in spite of herself, smirking at the effect she had on him. The deep purr that rose from her partner's throat brought color to her cheeks, and she pressed a warm hand to Chat's left shoulder, leaving a kiss just below and over the spot where his heart beat wildly.

His voice was soft and thick with love.

"Ladybug. Marinette. You have a deal."
