Finally a FMA fanfic after my writer's block... or more like lazyness... but I wrote this before so it's in the similiar styles as the other one. I'm not quite a fond of this one... I donno why D: I guess I'm used to writing in Winry's point of view than Al's. Oh well. Please enjoy )
A fight, a broken automail, and a reason to go back. What he gets is some serious scolding, a painful joining of the automail. But with some shouting, and arguments in the middle, the ending is always predictable. A wrench landing on his head, or better yet, what he hopes for, a kiss.
The relationship between my brother Edward and Winry is a strange one. Sometimes it's harsh and violent, I tend to stay away at those, yet other times it's sweet and sappy, which I also tend to stay away from… Either way, it's always interesting for me, Al to watch. There's never a dull moment.
Edward Elric. Short, golden haired and golden eyes. The Fullmetal Alchemist, a child prodigy. Others call him a little obnoxious pipsqueak. I call him a naïve child unsure of what to do or say.
Winry Rockbell. Non-short, blonde hair and blue eyes. An automail mechanic, Ed's. Not a typical girl. Others call her a violent wrench thrower or Ed's future bride. I call her a caring girl with a wrench as a best friend. Also the person that keeps Ed in line.
They've known each other for all of their life. They've been together through good and bad. They know all of each other's dreams and hopes yet they don't know they're in love with each other.
Actually it's really obvious if you look. It doesn't take a rocket scientist. A kindergartener would be able to figure it out. Ed cares more about Winry than he thinks. Although he's always complaining about how she would scold him and tell him to be careful, I know he likes it. He never tells her anything that would put her in danger and wouldn't hesitate to rescue her from whatever. That's why he goes back to Resembool so often… to see Winry.
The same goes for Winry too. Every time Ed and I come home, she always always scolds him for breaking his automail. Yet time after time, she'll fix it. She'll make it even better if it takes her the whole night, just for Ed. I know she puts her heart and soul into the automails for Ed. She wants the best for Ed, that's why she wants to learn everything she can. I think Winry is saddened to see that Ed wants his body back, thinking that he doesn't want the automail and won't come back to see her. But automail or not, Ed would come home at any possible chance.
My brother Ed and Winry are both strong willed and stubborn. They're naïve in the ways they can't see each other's love, right in front. Edward Elric, the youngest person to ever pass the State Alchemist exam, and Winry Rockbell, one of the most talented automail mechanics can't realize that what they're looking for is right under either noses. Well except Ed's… he's a bit short.
Ed and Winry are both strong, but lack the abilities the other has. In a way they're like a ying yang, or a jigsaw puzzle. They fit together to make a whole pictures. Needless to say, the world and my life would be very very dull without them.
Someday I hope they'll open their eyes and realize what everyone else has, that they need each other. That they love each other.
Until that day, I, Alphonse Elric, will continue pushing and nagging ed to confess to Winry.
If you think about it, it all equals out in the end. Equivalent Exchange… it's a strange little thing keeps the world going round.
