Chapter One: A New Adventure
'Lily! Could you please stop doing that?' Petunia asked. I giggled as the flower dropped out from my hand, after it had been flying up in the sky. No-one could explain why I was doing these things. 'Seriously, you're scaring me Lily! How are you doing that?' she asked. I was about to reply, but suddenly a boy's voice spoke from behind me. 'It's because she's a witch, I thought that was obvious,' the boy said. He had pale skin, with greasy black hair that hung over his eyes. 'Lily, let's go home,' Petunia said. She started walking off, but my feet were firmly planted on the ground. 'That's not a nice name to call someone,' I said quietly. 'You should be proud of it! My mum's a witch too! Haven't you ever been wondering why all these strange things are happening?' he asked. Petunia's voice spoke up again. 'Wait a minute! You're that boy from Spinner's End!' she snarled. 'What was the name…..? SEVERUS! SEVERUS SNAPE!' she laughed. 'Come on Lily,' she said as she dragged me back home.
When I got back inside, my mum and dad had surprised looks on their faces. 'Lily, you're a witch!' the beamed. My mouth hung open. Was this some sort of trick? Petunia looked disgusted. 'Are you being serious?' I asked suspiciously. My mum and dad both responded with a proud nod.
