Hello, and welcome to my first Shugo Chara fanfiction. I'm MagicalGirl4, your author, and I'm excited to get publishing!
Amu: Here we go... another fanfic, another day.
Magical girl4: Yeah! Another story for yours truly to tell, in which I use your characters to... wait, was what you just said supposed to be taken in offence?
Utau: Somewhat. Your interpretations of us are joining this archive.
Magical girl4: Yeah... you're right! That's so exciting!
Ikuto: You're being repetitive now... Can you maybe just hurry up?
Magical girl4: Uh, right. I do NOT own Shugo chara, or any of its characters. And word of advice, the canon that I'm grabbing for this fic is mainly taken from the manga, and a few bits from the anime, like certain characters existing, i.e: Lulu and Misaki Watari, and weapons/attacks that Amu is able to use, the Heart Speaders, Prism Music, Honey Bubbles, etc. Also SC!Party is completely non-canon in this. In the beginning and end of each chapter, I'm quoting something from the manga, and inserting a song or two from the Shugo Chara OST. If you want, you can listen to the first one in the very beginning of the chapter, and the next would be somewhere around the end.
Ikuto: Why are you doing all this though?
Magical girl4: Because it looks nice, and it'll set the mood. Well, enjoy!
Prologue
"No matter what changes, I'll still be me
and I can be whoever I want to be!"
.:...:.
The ex-Guardians of Seiyo Academy stood outside of the gate to their new middle school, looking past any students walking through the gates, and searching for a certain pink haired girl.
Leaning against a brick wall was a small girl. She had large hazel eyes, and long golden hair that reached her knees. Her school attire consisted of a purple tie that had the same checked pattern as her skirt, a black jumper and white stockings - she seemed to be talking to a small figure perched on her shoulder. Just beside her was a feminine looking boy. His silky indigo hair reached his waist, and he wore a green tie, black long pants and a black blazer. He stood with his hands in his pockets, and also had two small figures beside him. Lastly, there was a rather cute looking boy who had ruby eyes and blond hair. He wore the same uniform as the boy next to him, and looked at his watch from time to time.
"I'm tired of waiting," the small girl said bluntly, not looking away from the ground. "She's late. And if we stay out here any longer, we'll be late too." The small figure beside the girl giggled.
"She is right you know," scoffed a voice near the blond haired boy. The boy shook his head, and turned to his guardian character, smiling.
"Just a bit longer," he said to them. "Don't worry, she'll be here..."
.:Amu:.
My shouting could have probably been heard from a mile away as I bolted down the streets of Seiyo. The grip on my satchel bag was tighter than ever and I weaved through crowds of people, who were just waltzing around in the streetss. "Fight Amu, fight! You can do it!" cheered Ran, my energetic guardian character. I ignored her, trying to focus on not bumping into someone. Did today just have to be the day that I was running late for school? It's not even my fault that I'm in this situation!
I grumble, speaking as lowly as possible so no one could hear me, "Ran, I can't believe you forgot to set my alarm clock."
"That should have been your job, Amu-chan! It's your alarm!" she complained, pouting.
I rolled my eyes at her. "Yeah, but I actually asked you to do it!"
"Please stop you two... It's best if you don't fight, desu~," Su, my motherly chara, said in a wavering voice.
"Su, I even asked you to remind Ran!"
I regretted using that tone of voice as soon as I did, since she looked hurt. I slowed down my running, moving into a brisk walking pace. Huffing, I looked at the green chara. "I'm sorry, Su. Really, I'm just kind of annoyed, since I'm late and all..."
Su smiled warmly at me, indicating her forgiveness. "I'm sorry too, I shouldn't of forgotten, desu~."
"It's ok, I know you're a forgetful person," I replied. I glanced over to Ran, who didn't seem to be following in suit.
Dia, my insightful chara, cleared her throat so Ran could get the gist.
"OH! Sorry for forgetting, Amu-chan," she laughed, scratching her head.
"It's all good..." I muttered, noticing Miki, my creative chara, beside me, fussing over my crumpled uniform. "Amu-chan, it looks like you just rolled down a hill," she pointed out, glancing at me up and down.
I went red, and raised an eyebrow as I tried fix myself. "Oh, come on…"
"There's a window here you can see your reflection in," she ushered helpfully. I walked up to it and notice my tie was crooked, my black blazer crumpled and my white shirt sticking out. For this year, I decided to wear a grey sash around my blazer, grey boots that go to my knees, and purple knee high socks... I guess still wanted to keep the uniform somewhat stylish, but it's pretty much the same as last year. I also wanted to have my sleeves rolled up to my elbows, and my hair in a complete ponytail with my bangs out.
And yes, my hair is also different... I thought it'd be a nice change, rather than having it in its constant 'half-in half-out style'.
I swivelled away from the window, gripping my bag with new found determination. "Okay, let's do this!" I shouted triumphantly. Ran, Miki and Su shouted an "Okay!" with me.
"Um… Amu-chan?" I heard Dia ask.
I turned to her, grinning stupidly. "What is it?"
She pointed to a clock on a shop wall and it read… Wait, WHAT?!
"AAH! Two more minutes until the bell!" I stressed, pulling at my hair and breaking into a sprint.
"Don't worry Amu-chan! I know how to make us go faster!" Ran smiled, winking at me. Her pompoms shook, and she sang the usual chant, "Hop, step, JUMP!" Then I was flung towards the sky.
In horror, I begin to shout at her again, "Ran, what are you doing?! There are literally heaps of PEOPLE RIGHT BELOW US!"
She smiled awkwardly, scratching her head. "Oh, I didn't think of that."
I didn't protest any further, figuring that it was just best to go along with it. Luckily, I got to school in no time, considering that I didn't have to move past people and wait at stop lights.
"Hey look, there they are!" smiled Ran, pointing to the school gates. Grinning already, I glanced down at the entrance.
Rima, Tadase and Nagihiko were waiting, and seemed to be running out of patience. I dove down into a nearby alley that didn't have many people, and I undid the character change. Dodging traffic, I ran across the street to meet them.
"Morning, everyone!" I called to them, and they smiled brightly. My chara's began to greet theirs and the first thing I did was hug Rima. "It's good to see you," I whispered to her.
She giggled and pulled back, smiling. "You too."
I look to my right, grinning and fist bumping Nagihiko. "Hey, Nagi!" I said. He grinned back, and I feel a soft pang inside. Even though he told me probably at the worst possible time that he was Nadeshiko, I couldn't help but still feel betrayed that he didn't tell me sooner. Other than that... I was happy that two of my closest friends turned out to be the same person.
I turned to my left, and noticed Tadase smiling sincerely at me. "It's nice to see you again, Amu-chan."
I also smile at him. "It's good to see you too, Tadase-kun."
"You look good."
I realised that made me jolt slightly, and I felt a bit of heat invade my face. "O-oh, thank you. Just thought I'd add to the uniform, change my hair and stuff..." I laugh, putting a hand behind my head.
"Why are you so late?" he asked, frowning.
"Oh, well you see, it's a long story," I said to all of them, deciding to cut it short. "But basically, it's all Ran and Su's fault."
"WHAT?!" I hear Ran and Su shout. "It is not!"
"Is too!"
Miki shrugs. "It's been going on like this all morning."
I turn to face her. "Don't you start too!" Everyone laughed at this, and my face went red. This was definitely an interesting morning…
"Shall we go in now?" asked Nagi.
My smile returned, and I nodded my head. Rima and Tadase did so as well, and we looked to the school, walking forward.
Towards the doors, to new beginnings.

"We are all the main characters of our own story."

Ikuto: (Facepalms)
Magical girl4: Sorry, Ikuto and I were just playing Uno. Hope you guys liked the Prologue, things are going to get interesting in Chapter 2.
Amu: Now, since we have gotten to know each other. We won't be doing any violent actions, RIGHT?
Magical girl4: (Gasps and squeals) Yes, Amu! Of course!
Ikuto: ANYWAYS, why haven't I been mentioned yet?
Magical girl4: Because you're supposed to be in France, cat boy. But you'll be in the fic soon enough. Anyhow, that's all we got time for, bye!
