A/N: Written for the Death Note Flash Bingo, #108 – perfection.
The Illusions of God
He had long ago attained the pinnacle
called perfection: the point where he lost
his humanity.
The wings he was granted only served to mark
that state: the departure from earth,
from others who, in their ignorance
still felt warmth, and love
and happiness…
Because he slowly crawled up, to heaven,
to God…and he lost his ability to feel anything
save frustration and strain, until he fell
because he was too weak, to imperfect
to be truly God…
If he hadn't thought himself so perfect
he could have kept that illusion
and been happy.
