Daniel leaned against the decaying wall of the old text factory waiting for her to come. It been centuries since they parted and just thought of seeing her again brought some color to his pale face. He glanced up at the full moon. While it had once been dangling over his head it now began to disappear behind the trees outside of the small southern town. Where is she? Did she forget?

The wind rustled through trees and then a figure appeared before him. It was she, the one who had warmed Daniel's cold heart centuries ago. She was just as beautiful as always. The only change was her once golden blonde hair was now as dark as the night sky above them. And in all of his reveries of this moment her face did not wear such a sad expression. She took his hand and stroked it against her smooth face. Tears began to hug her eyes.

"I'm so sorry…I've found someone else."

He stood there for a while holding her hand trying to let the news sink in. How could she do this me? I love her so much. They stood there until almost dawn.

"The sun is about to come out we must go our separate ways now." She said but when she tried to walk away he grabbed her arm.

"You wouldn't get way with this you bitch!" He screamed as he turned around and walked away with no one beside him.

The next night he awoke to an empty feeling. He had been betrayed but tonight was a new night. Lucky for him summer had just began and the peaceful town by day, it became alive at night. The small town of Magnolia Heights sat on the shores of the Mississippi coast and became a hotspot for tourist looking for a low-key place to stay for vacation. It was a perfect time for him to prey on the innocent college girls.

He dressed himself for a night on the town a headed for the local club, The Velvet Crush. When he arrived around nine a crowd had already began to build around the doors. He flashed the bouncer his mysterious smile he opened the door immediately. And Daniel entered a whole new world full of alcohol, sex, and most important-blood.

He saw her from the moment he stepped inside. Blonde, pretty face, and completely alone. She sat perched on a stool in front of the bar. He made his through the crowd and sat next her. He bought her a cocktail and they talked for hours. Finally, when he felt confidant enough, he asked her if she would walk on the beach with him. She gave him a sly look and said with a southern drawl, "You've talked to me half the night about yourself. Then you ask me to walk with you along the beach, and you haven't even asked me my name. I don't know what you're thinking but I'm not one of those girls." She pointed towards a girl in a miniskirt giving some drunken guy a lap dance.

"I'm terribly sorry where are my manners? Please tell me our name."

"My name is Erika and if you promise to close your mouth longer than a second I'll be glad to go with you." He looked at her and knew she was different. She would be a challenge…and he loved challenges.
