Wallet Angel

Edward and I stood in line to get our senior pictures from our homeroom teacher, the same pictures that would end up in the yearbook, lovely. I'm not the most photogenic person, I just hoped that my eyes had been open and that nothing had been in my teeth.

Edward broke me out of my stupor when he leaned down and whispered in my ear, "What are you thinking, love?" His breath surrounded my face in a cloud of his sweet scent and it was impossible not to breathe it in.

"Just hoping my picture isn't too bad," I said, knowing exactly what his answer was going to be.

"It will be beautiful Bella, you're beautiful," He said snaking his long white fingers into my small, pale, peach ones as we stood in front of Ms. Moore's desk.

"Edward, Bella," She said handing us our own large, crisp, white envelope. I held mine face down, not wanting to look at the disaster that must be inside it.

"Let me see," I said trying to sneak a peek at Edward's picture, already knowing it would be perfect.

"Only if I can see your's," He said, my favorite crooked smile crossed his lips and his liquid topaz eyes smoldered, it was an unfair fight, he was dazzling me.

"Fine," I said. My white envelope left my hand and was replaced with his a little faster than he should be moving in public.

I pulled out the large sheet of glossy paper and stared into the eyes of my vampire. His topaz eyes caught the light perfectly making them look more like gems than his eyes. His pearly white teeth peeked out from under his full snow white lips, his dimples dipped into his cheeks framing his too perfect smile. He was leaning against a fake wall of stone, his arms crossed over his smooth tan sweater, he looked more like a model than a high school student. It was like staring into the face of an angel.

"It's beautiful," Edward and I said in unison. I looked up and looked right into the same face on the glossy surface in my hands. I was looking into the eyes of my own personal angel, my own personal vampire boyfriend.

"I was wondering," He started, a sheepish grin formed on his lips. "Can I have a wallet?" He asked lifting up a wallet sized photo of mine. The picture was normal, nothing compared to the picture of Edward. Well, at least my eyes we open and nothing was in my teeth.

"Only if I can have one of yours."

"Of course, love," He said. I pulled out a wallet photo of Edward and we exchanged our envelopes again. I pulled out my worn brown wallet from the front pocket of my backpack and slipped it into the empty photo sleeve. A piece of my angel to carry around with me forever.
