I don't know how we got in this situation. All I know is that I have the love of my life with me. We may not be certain of what is to come, but we have each other. Right now that is all we need to know. With his arms tightly around me, Lucas whispers into my ear. "Kayla, I will never let anything bad happen to you. I need you to believe that."
Completely assured in his loyalty and devotion I respond by hugging him closer. "I'll never think otherwise. Ever."
