AN: The idea came to me at going to see the midnight showing of Eclipse, and seeing all the guys there with their girlfriends/wives. Enjoy!
~Midnight Show~
Kale did not understand it, and it wasn't because he didn't like reading. In fact, he loved reading. He thoroughly enjoyed a good Bernard Cornwell, John Sanford, or Dan Brown book any day of the week. Hell, he even liked Harry Potter. But this whole Twilight phenomenon baffled him.
Of course, Minako had read it, and promptly declared it a wonderful love story and she would know being the Goddess of Love. He wasn't surprised that Usagi and Makoto were in complete agreement with her. He raised an eyebrow when Ami said she enjoyed the books. He had been utterly shocked when Rei wore a Team Jacob shirt. He thought she, of all people, would not have hopped on the Twilight band wagon.
He even went as far to ask the other guys if they understood it, and if so, could they please explain it to him. Jace just shrugged and said it was a chick thing. Nolan agreed with Jace saying that he shouldn't bother understanding it because no straight guy understood it. Mamoru said it probably wasn't all bad if Usagi liked it, but Kale knew Mamoru liked anything that made Usagi smile, so his opinion was worthless. Zerek said it was because their love was so strong that it overcame every obstacle they face, but Kale was sure he was just bullshitting in order to impress Ami.
So why was he standing outside a theater, in the rain no less, waiting for a seat at the midnight showing of the latest movie? Because Minako looked at him with those big blue eyes and said it would be romantic to see the movie together. At first, he protested going, but then she pouted and it was all downhill from there. Well, he thought to himself, if Minako thought it was romantic, she would be in the mood for great sex after the movie. And great sex, Kale understood.
