Author's note:
Hey! So like I've told you before, I've been watching way too many episodes of Kung fu panda (if that is even possible) and this idea occurred to me, so hope you enjoy it!
Chapter 1
'the most powerful of the five have one thing in common, they become evil"
Tigress was meditating, they had just finished their real training and where now given the rest of the day off. But Tigress was thinking.
'I won't become evil...I was trained well enough, and I was train under Master Shifu! I surely can't become evil...besides it's the most powerful one, maybe I'm not the most powerful one, yeah that's it! I'll go ask Shifu, he will tell me'
She went down to where Shifu was meditating in the Reflecting Pool of tears.
"Master Shifu" she said and bowed before continuing.
"Yes Tigress" he responded, still ssitting down
"Who's the most powerful out of the five? And by that I mean not including Po of course" Shifu twitched his ear and stood up to look directly at his student.
"I guess that would be you Tigress, but why would you ask that? Is not about fame, right?" He asked, hoping Tigress was not worrying about insignificant things . Tigress shook her head.
"No master. I was simply thinking about what you told Po" she stated. Fame right, as if she wanted even more attention.
"Tigress, I have said tons of things to that panda, what exactly are you thinking about?" He said curiously.
"Fenghuang" it was impressive how one word could explain it all. Shifu stared at his staff.
"You are not worried that you will become evil, are you?" Tigress shrugged,
"Now Tigress, you have goodness in your heart just like Po, you will not turn out like Fenghuang" Shifu said, trying to comfort the tiger.
"But Po is Po! He is kind and sweet and funny and everything nice! He smiles and he cheers everyone up! But me? I'm the opposite, you know that I do what's right, but I don't have that... light in my heart. I lose my temper, I have claws, I have fangs, I have strength" tigress said, her voice raising. She was looking at herself, for a moment thinking that she indeed was a monster.
"Strength that can harm if intended to" She muttered.
Shifu let out a light chuckle, which infuriated Tigress, couldn't he tell this was serious?!
"Tigress, you might not be like him. But you can't compare yourself with others. Tigress, yes you might need to work on controlling your anger a little bit more, but deep down you always know what's right. Don't ever doubt that" and once he finished, he walked out of the room.
Tigress sighed. What if she lost sight of that?
"So you really think all of that about me, huh?" She smiled but soon let it fade.
"Don't flatter yourself, Dragon warrior" she said, walking down to the Peach tree. But the panda didn't listened and followed her.
"How could I not, when THE hardcore master Tigress says that about you... its pretty unique" Po said. Tigress chuckled and sat down once she got to the top. Po took a seat beside her after taking some peaches. He handed one to her.
"You really don't believe that about yourself, do you?" He asked her, taking a bite out of it.
"What?" The peaches were really sweet, the flavor was helping her relax a little, or maybe it was the company she was having by her side.
"That you are like that" Po answered, looking at the feline. It had gotten dark now, he liked it. Mostly because Tigress's eyes glowed at night, they turned golden. And Po loved that.
"I do Po." She said, not wanting to get into much detail. Po set his peach down and hugged her. Tigress froze and let her peach fall into the dirt beneath. She has only been hugged by him... a feeling she wasn't too familiar with, and even though she knew the appropriate response was to hug him back, she didn't. She was still new at this.
"You are not Tigress. You are wonderful. You are amazing, you always look out for each one of us, you might not smile a lot, but the ones that you do show are amazing and special. Your strength always helps us beat bad guys and your fangs and claws just make you more beautiful. Tigress, you are not evil, you have a golden heart, don't ever forget that" he whispered to her ear.
Tigress just stood there, getting used to the feeling of herself in his arms. Of his words. She really was all that to him? She smiled. She wanted to hug him back, but she wasn't in the right position to do it, so she just whispered a thank you to him.
"No worries Tigress, after all, that's what friends are for, right?" He chuckled and started to go down to the barracks; he knew that the others already ate dinner so he didn't have to worry about it. He didn't show it, but it ached him that he had to use the word 'friend' with her, he didn't wanted to be her 'friend', he wanted more.
Tigress smiled and watched him go. Somehow it pained her to be called friend. She didn't know why though. She shook her head and stared off to the night sky. She started to get sleepy, so she went to the barracks to rest, trying to convince herself that there was no possible way she was going to be bad.. wasn't it absurd to think that being the leader of the guys who fight the bad guys would switch sides?
But on the distance, there was someone else watching her.
"Well, it seems the kitty is ready to pway, isn't she?" she started laughing, her loud voice ringing through the mountains.
