AN: This is a story for a April fanfiction challenge I'm doing. (If you want to see it go to alyx - is - sherlocked . tumblr Remove spaces) I know it's technically the 2nd...but I had a busy day today. Also it's pretty late so please don't hate on me for this piece of randomness.
Disclaimer: I do not own Sherlock bbc, its characters and I do not own Psych or its cases.
April Challenge day one: Writer's block
John stared at the white screen in front of him. It was 2:00 in the afternoon, Sherlock was in his room sleeping (For the first time in about 48 hours), and John had sat down in his chair to write up their last case. But for some reason the words just didn't want to come out. He knew all the details of the case, had been with Sherlock for most of it, but he still couldn't write it. It was like he had the thoughts and ideas floating in his head but couldn't figure out how to sort them out and write them down. John sat there staring at the screen for about ten minutes before deciding to take a break and make some tea. Maybe he just needed to clear his head.
After he finished making his tea, he returned to his chair and sat down again. He sat there drinking from his cup and thinking over the weird case. A man claiming to be haunted had asked for their help, John hadn't thought Sherlock would take the case but considering they hadn't had a case for two weeks Sherlock jumped at the chance for a distraction. Even a small one.
The case turned out much stranger than anticipated. The man had told them different aspects of the 'haunting'. He would pass out and then awaken hours later in a different place not knowing how he got there, he would awaken to see his furniture had been moved and Sherlock found evidence of a red headed girl at his house, even though his ex-girlfriend (First suspect) was a brunette. The man had even tried to move away, but the 'ghost' followed him.
In the end it turned out the man had multiple personality disorder. He blacked out when the 'other' personality would take over, a female personality. 'She' would rearrange the furniture and leave bits of hair (From her wig.) 'She' even had a hidden room in the attic of the house where 'she' would keep 'her' clothes and a few other items. After learning about this the man was thankful he wasn't being haunted and was going to look into getting some help. He paid Sherlock well and we went on our way.
There's more that happened during the case but that was the gist of it. Finally inspired after thinking it over. John sat down and started to type the title 'The ghost, the girl and I.'
