Disclaimer: I am not J.K. Rowling. I do not own any characters or anything else you may recognize. I am making no money from the writing of this. I just like to play in this world.
A/N: This was written for the Gemstone Competition using the prompt Rose Quartz: write about your OTP falling in love or on their wedding day. Alternatively, write about Rose Weasley. This is my OTP on their wedding day. I listened to the song "We Danced" by Brad Paisley for inspiration.
The Music Played
Looking at the couple on the dance floor, the guests knew that they were totally lost in each other. The place could be falling down around them, but as long as the music played they would not notice a thing.
Hermione looked into the eyes of her husband. She smiled at him and he smiled back. She got lost in his fathomless, black eyes.
It was shocking for most of the guests to see him smiling. They had never seen Severus Snape smile before. They knew not to bring it up though unless they wanted his infamous glare.
The song ended and the bride and groom walked to their seats without breaking eye contact with each other. The guests watched as he pulled her chair out for her. He sat and then leaned over to whisper in her ear. She blushed prettily and the women all sighed as they thought of the sweet nothings his deep, silken voice must be whispering. The men groaned thinking they were now going to have to try to live up to Snape's example of romance.
In actuality, Severus had leaned over and whispered, "I can't wait to get you out of that dress. It took all my control not to rip it off you right there on the dance floor."
Hermione blushed, but showed no other sign that her husband was whispering very naughty things to her.
After dinner was finished and the traditional father-daughter dance, the dance floor was open to everyone. Hermione danced with almost every male friend of hers: Harry, the Weasley men, Neville, and even Viktor Krum. Snape was only slightly jealous. She would talk and laugh with the men while dancing, but she always returned to his side.
Finally, Snape got her back in his arms for a dance. They locked eyes again and the world around them faded away. They were the only two people in the world and as long as the music played they would stay that way.
